I heard they cut off ticket sales at a pretty low number for today. From the pictures I’m seeing, it doesn’t look bad at all.

FAR better than I thought it would be. So far . . . .

They rolled in fast. And I’ve had one or two or twelve beers. Go easy.

Hasn’t there been a ton of rain? I can’t imagine the mud

Only drops of rain and no mud. Show was awesome and crowd was FAR more manageable than I ever would have expected. I was going back and from my spot until an hour before the show.

No mud. A few droplets today, but no real rain.

The crowd for Elton John was insane. What was the estimate for that?
By far and away the most crowded concert/festival day I ever witnessed. No other one even compares for me.

If I remember correctly part of the reason in addition to Elton John was they had Ed Sherrin(sp) that day as well and he absolutely had blown up in popularity the previous 6 months or so before JF.
Someone else pretty decent was playing around the same time as both of them as well

I saw the stones 30 years ago in the dome….they were 50 and sounded horrible….I can’t imagine at 80 years old they sound any better……

Steel Wheels? I was there.
The sound in the Dome is always terrible.
The show is about, well, showmanship. Mick ripped it on the harp that night. And watching him chicken dance over to a huge blowup doll and hump it; well, that was something to see.
The octogenarian Stones last night were amazing for their age.. As a band, I thought they were a hair ragged. They weren’t nearly as tight as Springsteen’s band (73 and 74 year olds).
Mick ran out of breath. Keith’s fingers, badly twisted from arthritis, couldn’t always find the notes.
But they were the fricking Stones at JazzFest rocking a huge crowd.
Satisfaction, my brother.

Keith definitely struggled some. Ronnie wood fricking killed it.

Don't forget about Chuck Lavell. He basically carries the band now.

tickets for yesterday were $200 and capped off at 40,000 (not including VIP tix) ...
Approximately $8,000,000 in ticket sales as half went to the Stones. Quite possibly the last Stones' concert in NOLA.
They played 18 songs in 2 hours, very impressive

Richards is so eaten up with arthritis that he can hardly play at all now. It so sad what has happened to him.

He somehow pulled it together for little T and A.
