I loaded sixteen tons and what do I get?
Joe Biden taking my job and living on the streets.

"Ending Coal" is simply just one more step by un-elected WEF-UN-Globalist bureaucrats by design. The ongoing implementation of the globalists' Agenda 21/30 Plan that was signed on by 176 countries (in 1992!) will continue unfettered.
NONE of the crippling demolition the US & European economy & standard of living; annihilation of our borders; or blatant sabotage of our health & life-span should be of any surprise to anyone paying attention.
**And btw -- let's stop humoring the Mockingbird Media's blame of crash-dummie "Biden" as THE reason and calling-card for all the state- sponsored mayhem and destruction.

Strange Concept. We ship Coal and Oil across the Pacific on ships burning carbon emitting fuel. We ship raw materials across the Pacific, burning carbon emitting fuels. The finished goods come back, same.
I saw a report that most of the cotton used is grown in California, shipped to Egypt, where it is made into cloth. Then its shipped back to the USA.
But its the automobiles that are heating the Planet..

They say we have coal for 300 years. What a shame to try and abandon it .

Would be good for someone to post Biden’s remarks on coal during the 2020 election, so we can revisit his lies about his true intent.

It’s always funny how the staunchest proponents of these new energy technologies are people who line their pockets on it.
The poor sods that have to pay for all of this shite (consumers and taxpayers, yes they are different groups) are just “uninformed.”
Just like all of the PhD’s that told us the ice age was coming in the 70’s and paper bags were bad in the 80’s.
Now they are slashing down thousands of acres of forest in the southeast. Turning that into wood pellets. Then shipping it across the world to be burned as “renewables.”
You can’t make this stuff up.

Clearly you cannot explain it. Like I said last night, I’ve forgotten more than you will ever know.
Posted on 4/29/24 at 8:12 pm to Night Vision
This will result in the Dems eventually protesting for $50 minimum wage

You need me to explain the formula for $/MWh?
Guess you have forgotten a lot.

California cannot support the grid to charge electric trucks. So.

Too bad this administration won't let coal fade away organically - if indeed it would as you describe...

They can’t help but virtue signal it. The enviro-tards need it I guess. I think the last projection I saw was that there would only be a handle full of units still in service by 2035 just because of economics and increasing O&M. They just can’t let the win come naturally.

I don’t believe you are an engineer or MBA finance guy.
It’s not $/MWH. The point is efficient capital allocation. Every investment should earn a rate of return. So if capital is used to build solar and wind energy that produces on average 23-30% of its rated capacity, then capital also needs to be used to build baseload units to meet demand for electricity.
The wind doesn’t always blow and the sun doesn’t always shine.
Unless you can explain how this is a good outcome, I’m done corresponding with you over TD PT.

I'm not too concerned what someone who works for a utility company thinks about me.

Correct, but the inputs to figure that out will paint the picture you need to see.
quote:
that produces on average 23-30% of its rated capacity
You keep coming back to yield like it is THE answer when it's a part of the answer. Do the math, figure it out and the answer will be clear.

It should be used to build them all. Not just the ones you like because you're scared of the ones you don't understand.

it will essentially push most of the remaining 200 or so coal-fired plants out of business
And they want to have everyone driving an EV. But we cant generate enough power to do so.
Nuclear is the answer but they keep pushing for wind and solar.

They just gave nuclear the same subsidy as wind and solar.

Nuclear does not have the same subsidies as wind and solar.

IRA Section 13105 creates a “zero-emission nuclear power production tax credit” in Section 45U of the Code (the Nuclear PTC) aimed at preventing the decommission of existing nuclear plants. The Nuclear PTC is available with respect to existing nuclear plants for electricity produced and sold for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2023, and before December 31, 2032.
There's also the 45J credits from 2005 that were refreshed in 2018 for "advance nuclear power facilities."
PV solar = one time ITC @30% of FMV or a PTC (new under IRA)
Wind/geothermal/biomass = PTC
I thought you did this for a living?
