I dare say no one can compare with Superior Grill's margarita. It can be consumed in New Orleans, Baton Rouge or Shreveport. A gown man cannot drink two of them and stand up straight.

I've drank 6 Hand granades and 2 pitchers of beer in one night before.....I think I can handle a couple of margaritas. (FWIW, I did end up really drunk and getting sick that night though)

Unfortunately, you have to go to Texas to get a great rita. My brother used to live close to El Patio in Houston on Westheimer, and those were some good/strong margaritas.

As far as taste goes, the ones at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville are pretty damn tasty FWIW. I can't remember if they had any kick or not though.

Here goes, Red Lobster in Metarie. If anyone has ever tried it, and likes a STRONG limeade taste, it's MONEY.

Margaritas + cheesy biscuits = Happy Opie

What's better: Do you like real, authentic margaritas (lime juice, tequila, triple sec) or do you prefer mixed margaritas?

Their margaritas are pretty good but I'm pretty sure they used to be stronger...La Carreta's are also good but I don't think I've ever really had a margarita in Louisiana that was really GREAT.

I do not profess to be a margarita expert since almost all are pre-mixed crap but before you hop in a car for el paso go try one of the hand squeezed margaritas at el gato Negro in the quarter

Come on man, everything is a pre-mix and it is not all that great. But yeah, it will knock you down if you have enough of them.

A couple of years back, the head waiter from Superior in Shreveport left and opened up his own place right down the street called the Oyster Bar. I can usually drink a good 3-4 Superior margaritas, so I had two Oyster Bar margaritas during happy hour...complete black out. They took the recipe from Superior and I guess just decided to add in more everclear. Needless to say, I thought they were pretty damn good.

+1

Try the veal. It's the best in the city.
