it says that a CO anything with the same degree of authority and responsibility is STUPID....
it always is.

as to WHY they are hired by others
a)they are going a a lesser demand environment
b)they are not going together.
c)they should have actually learned something at LSU's expense.

well first off these coaches didn't come to lsu and say we'll do a piss poor job so we can get a bad record this year. they came in trying to do the best they could but as it happens things didn't go well and we had an off year. so adjustments now need to be made and i believe we can wish them the best of luck where ever they end up. as for the players they came to lsu to play and win and i also believe they will give their all to the team and keep the team with the respect it deserves from the rest of the country.

Maybe it's a "bailout". That seems to be the method that we award poor performance these days.

Maybe it says our problem was with the players and not the coaches.

Better question perhaps is what does it say about other teams.

Leave it to our LSU coach haters to gloat about Miles making a few coaching changes.

Yeah, but people on here don't like it when the "smart" head coach starts JJ over a healthy JL.

IMO it wasn't just the coaches but the scheme. This was not the way they had ran defenses in their past jobs. They were forced to keep running Pelini's system that had gotten figured out last year. Who knows these guys might be very good on their own. I'm through bashing them because they no longer coach here. I wish them both the best.

What does this say about CLM and LSU? I think the #1 recruiting class says it all.

It says there is a coaching fraternity, and they cover for each other. It also says that they made excuses for why the defense sucked so bad this year (probably blaming it all on the players) and NW bought it hook, line and sinker (thankfully).

Come on Tiger in Atlanta, do you really think Pev forgot how to coach after having 20 years of success or that he was fully responsible for the demise of the defense this year?

I think they were told very politely to put out feelers because there would be a change after the bowl game. One thing you have to say about Miles is he has handled this with class and kept LSU's business behind closed doors and that is the way it should be handled in my opinion.

for the life of me, i cant figure out how this is so hard to see. miles has class and helped his assts move on without publicly hammering them. this is only gonna help les when he looks for assistants in the future.

+1 ...This was handled as it should be.

As to what went wrong on our D this year, ...well, 90% of it is just having your players in the right place. Ours weren't. This is generally coaching and not the players, but it may have just been the case that both guys were spending too much time as coordinators and not enough time as position coaches. I'm guessing that they didn't share the work load as well as they should have.

Co-DCs = Bad Idea

So the blame for this ultimately rests with Miles. That being said, he's fixing the problem. ...And I think the NC earns him a free frick-up. Let's hope he goes and gets another NC so that he can frick-up again in the future.

coaching was a problem this year . we lost one of the best dc's in college football and also the starting qb. the coaches and players just didn't jell this season but miles is a smart coach and he will fix this problem . he already has one of the best recruiting classes in lsu history so it looks like he's already started us in the direction of a third crystal.

It says to prospective assistant coaches, "Hey, this guy/school ain't gonna throw us under the bus! He'll give us opportunity to continue to support our family, honorably. Sounds like a good working enviornment." "Now if the fans would show as much respect..."
