Nothing much. None of them are getting "promotions". Mallory is demoted, lane will be demoted if he leaves, and Peveto left to become a crappy div 2 HC.

I think they were told very politely to put out feelers because there would be a change after the bowl game. One thing you have to say about Miles is he has handled this with class and kept LSU's business behind closed doors and that is the way it should be handled in my opinion.

It means Miles handled with class and acknowledges non publically that he made a mistake and had taken the proper steps by making the change. I personally hope these coaches luck. How many of us can say that we coach college ball??? Not many but we are sure great arm chair coaches.

You know, a lot of people wanted these two guys out. That will now happen. Where they are going to really makes little difference. I would agree with a number of folks that Miles told them what was on his mind and handled things with class instead of doing a public bloodletting, and that speaks well of his character. In terms of the two soon to be former assistants, I really do not think that it is an issue of "oh boy they were so lousy that they did not get a promotion, or even a complete lateral transfer in terms of money". They needed jobs to continue supporting their families. I think most of us can appreciate that. Moreover, it also gives them a fresh start, and there are very few people in this world who have not needed a fresh start at some point in their life. If you have not arrived there yet, the time will come if you live long enough. The deed is done. Let's wish them well in their new lives and move on.

It may just be that they had different philosophies with respect to how to run a defense. They may both be great individually.

Scoop. You are correct a lot more class than let us say Sabin. When he announced on Christmas day in Orlando that he was leaving LSU. Good luck against Utah in the sugar.
