Ranking SEC states based off their southernness: 1a. Mississippi 1b. Alabama 3. South Carolina 4. Tennessee 5. Louisiana 6. Arkansas 7. Kentucky 8. Texas 9. Florida 10. Oklahoma 11. Missouri 12. Georgia (Biden Lovers)

This is a stupid question. Being southern is mostly state individuality. So each area is unique in ways which makes it southern in its own way. South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and parts of Texas and Florida are all considered the deep south.

I don't think Tennessee is more southern culturally than Louisiana. I had a frat brother that moved from Chattanooga to BR for LSU and said it was more southern in BR. South Carolina I would say is a washup tie with Louisiana. There aren't as many brothers in SC which imo is a big make up of what makes a state southern.

Lowest median income and highest % black would prob be a good metric to use as most Southern. So LA, MS, AL I would say are top 3.

You've obviously never been to Shreveport. Cotillion, debutante, etc. Shreveport being compared to Dallas couldn't be more dumb. Shreveport is 60/40 black white. Dallas is 45% hispanic, 25% black, 30% white. Dallas is a thriving city with major financial industry. They are 2 opposites.
Shreveport is basically Jackson, MS.

PREACH!
The state government has been red and will continue to be so. Even if not as deep red as it was just a decade/15 years ago.

If you think Atlanta is more southern than North Louisiana, you're dumb.

Thread is sleeping on Virginia.
SW Virginia (From Bristol to Lynchburg, basically the 81 corridor) is as southern if not more Southern than a lot of Bama, Georgia, Mississippi, ,etc.
I would argue that the entire Cumberland/Smoky Mtn.area, (NE TN, SW Virginia & NW NC(the High Country) ) is more southern than most of the rest of the region. That entire area is also the highest average elevation on the entire Eastern Seaboard.

This map has Dixie as 1 county from Jacksonville, FL. That isn't accurate.

Northern Georgia is a hidden gem in this country. Just fabulous
Yep.
Hiawassee is my favorite place in the entire state.

In addition, I'd consider Monroe or Shreveport a lot more as Dixie than North Central Florida

Another metric that can be used is Annual Rainfall. That centers around Mobile and gets less as you spread out. I think that's a good metric as well. It'd make AL, MS, LA as the top
