If you don't fit in this category, then all is well and good.But I'd bet there's a very large overlap in those who see nothing but negs in DL recruiting, McMahon, our AD, The baseball team. All these negs have what Saban called the brook trout stare. They go through life just knowing the worst is gonna happen. And that's sad.

Look, I love BK. Love everything he is doing and think he will get us to the promised land if we are patient. But I think his discipline here - while usually warranted- is going to hurt our chances in 2024. I really do. I get we don't want to look desperate, but we have the worst DT position group in the SEC. We are desperate there. These guys are probably not worth their asking price. But sometimes you have to pay over sticker where the lots are empty and your current car won't start.

I am usually done with Tiger Rant after the last college football game of the year, and stay on the recruiting board because its posters were more reasonable and still most of its content was based around football. Recently over the last few years, we've had an influx of whiny arse pussies who clog up the board with bitch fits. It's freaking April as far as recruiting goes. The summer picks up commits every single year. As far as the portal goes, you heard some rumors and now you're melting and throwing fits.
We ALWAYS get on these 18, 19, and 20 year old players to have patience and discipline on life changing decisions that they only have 5 years for, while 30, 40, 50, and 60 year olds whine like babies on stuff that won't affect their personal life one bit. I wish there was a rule on the board to consolidate all the bitching into one thread. Maybe this should be the bitch and moan thread.

Blame Brian Kelly. He is the one that said they are focusing on signing top quality DT. They supposedly freed up a bunch of money to go after the top guys and we can’t outbid Auburn? IF that’s the case, we can’t outbid Tulane or Aurburn at our one position of interest? We are completely screwed going forward.

When a head coach comes out and clearly states that the DT position is a real concern and that they are looking for help in the portal, there isn’t much confidence in the players currently on the roster at that position.

It's gonna be a long year on the recruiting board. It's amazing what the portal has done to the hope and excitement spring generally brings. Now it's all panic and tones of desperation. We aren't gonna land every DT that visits. We aren't going to miss on all of them either. Look around and it's pretty clear other schools are in the same position as us in terms of desperation on the DL, DT in particular. It makes for an inflated market and it takes a bit to settle. Kids would be unwise to not leverage other visits while negotiating. They have agents now to make sure. It doesn't mean we are poor. Texas is sure to be setting the market with Dominic Williams but even they can't persuade him to not take other visits. They're far from broke. Just desperate and the kids(agents) know it.
We can get into a further discussion another time regarding a much overlooked point regarding Bo Davis. I'm a fan because of his development track record but taking a look at that Texas room and reading about their own dilemma of needing quality DL bodies, it could make one curious as to what Davis was doing as a recruiter there and why it means things are gonna suddenly change here. I think it's pretty clear those expecting major 5* hauls are set up for disappointment. He's fortunate the 26 class is DL loaded instate. He's one we are gonna truly have to trust in the evals/development angle with.

One of the 2 they have locked up visited us first and others before us, so he took multiple visits before auburn got him. Maybe other schools didn't think he could cut it. Not sure about the other 1

We are going to be so good everywhere else we won't need DTs. We're going to play a 2-5 D with only edge rushers on the line. There, I solved the problem.

I know you’re being funny BUT college football has changed. You no longer need 4 man fronts and 18 DL on the roster. Do we need a few more sure but the panic about something that hasn’t even finished that’s on this board right now is laughable
