Kinda like Scientology, climatology has become a common religion for many in the US and other first world countries.

They’re are never right about anything. They predicted 3-5 major hurricanes the last few years and it has been relatively quiet.

Except Scientology and climatology are literally nothing alike

Besides the fact they both end in ology.

Sauce? Hurricanes are weather, not climate.
And as someone below me pointed out, 2023 was very active. Do they have to hit major metros to count? I'm not sure mother nature knows exactly where they are located.

The environmentalist movement is very much like Scientology

The 2023 Atlantic hurricane season was the fourth-most active Atlantic hurricane season on record with 20 named storms forming, tied with 1933. Among them, 7 became hurricanes, with 3 reaching major hurricane strength.

In 2010 Al Gore was trotting out "research" that had some models showing there was a 75% chance there would be no ice on the north pole during some of the summer months within 5-7 years...2015-2017. There was 1.63 million square miles of ice in summer 2023.
They keep being comically off with these projections yet they're not getting called out on it and they just keep making new ones.

I don’t understand why people have to throw the baby out with the bath water on this all because of politics. It’s pretty much agreed on by most rational people on both sides now that the average temperature of the earth is trending upwards every year. Each year is consistently a top 10 hottest year on record. Al Gore is a moron, but you’re not a soy boy cuck because you can view pretty solid evidence it’s warming. It’s happening more severely than stubborn posters on this board want to admit, and less severely than the hysterical doomsday people say.

I don't remember the last year that wasn't predicted to go this way.
They say it every year.

The rub comes from whether you believe that humans have a
relevant impact on that rise, or whether there is anything we can do about it either way.
One thing is certain: strip mining minerals in China and Africa for car batteries is not going to stop the earth from warming.

What you're ignoring is that the whole point of this movement IS political. That's their point as they're using it as a way to fundamentally change our country and how we live under the guise of saving the planet. They don't even hide that anymore. And every single doom and gloom prediction has been wrong, by a lot.
Also, what they won't tell you is what percentage of climate change is driven by humans, what the human contribution to greenhouse gases is compared to natural sources (volcanic activity, fires, etc), and they've been caught faking the data so many times they should no longer even have a platform to espouse their bullshite.

There are bad actors on all sides of every issue. Al Gore was selling carbon credits and shite. He's a grifter. Im. Still not sure I believe he said there'd be no ice on the north pole by 2015 though
Here is an article from 2009 on this issue. Apparently Al Gore didn't understand the data he was using. Typical of politicians, Gore isn't a scientist.

They had to take down the signs at Glacier National park that said what year the glaciers would disappear by. Problem was they got to the year and there were still glaciers.

The way they keep score has changed. With satellites and planes, etc. they find more and they measure more.

Yeah last years drought will extend another year.

That one always cracks me up, but were scientists in charge of putting up the signs? Or was it some park worker or intern trying to make it more "exciting" and make guests think they were seeing something that would be gone?
I find it hard to believe a scientist would give a hard date prediction on something like that

I was thinking it was cooler than usual for where i am and so far this week the average temp is at -2 from the historical average.
So weve cooled by 2 degrees.
So weve cooled by 2 degrees.

Lol researchers claimed the glaciers would melt by 2030. They moved it to 2050 and then to 2080.
Money talks.
haha the wwf are pushing it further out... We need more funding!
quote:
Even if we significantly curb emissions in the coming decades, more than a third of the world's remaining glaciers will melt before the year 2100.
The climate crisis will never end. It's the long grift.
