It’s a strange question.

Regardless of how the season has gone thus far, of course we are “in it” now. We’ll still be “in it” if we sweep Auburn. We’ll also still be “in it” if we merely win 2/3 against Auburn.

It’s a 30 game conference schedule, history shows we need to get to 13-14+ conference wins. Until those 13-14 conference wins are mathematically impossible, we’re still “in it”…. With “in it” meaning alive for postseason NCAA tournament

Sweep Auburn and then win 6 of then next 9 to get to 14 wins. 15 would be a lock. 13 likely wouldn’t do it. Not enough quality wins (wins against ranked or teams with winning records).

we should sweep them

I know we’re all counting wins here towards the finish line, but I really disagree with going into any weekend expecting a sweep…of anyone.

Just win games - preferably more than you lose this weekend - and let’s re-evaluate going into next weekend. We all want a sweep, just as we did at Mizzou, but it’s definitely not sweep or season over……..yet.

I think we need good wins to get in at 13-17. Like a series win against A&M and bama. We’ve fallen short against all the good teams we have played thus far.

Typical year you have 8 or 9 teams make the post season tournament. The record is 10 but that does not happen often.

So we will stick with the number 9.

8 teams are decidedly ahead of us with no chance for us to surpass them in the pecking order (KY, UT, Vandy, GA, SC, Ark, A&M, MSU). We would be competing against FL for that 9th bid with LSU holding the advantage should we finish 13-17. I can't see us being selected with a 12-18 SEC record.

Sweep Auburn and 2 out of 3 against A&M and I will feel much better about our chances of an NCAA bid.

Play games past the SEC tournament? First objective is to make the SEC tournament.

Doesn’t matter. Get better every week. Sweep AU.

It’s going to be tough to only lose 4 or 5 more games with teams like Alabama and A&M left to play

No, this team is lacking in to many areas. Off year for LSU. We just need to get in the SECT and have a good showing then we can talk about this.

Wait for the sweep. Until then, don’t crow a peep.
