Not Boston/NE in general, that’s for damned sure. I also hate the yat accent in NOLA.
I actually don’t like heavy American accents of any kind. But a hint of southern high society is perfect.

Gotta be a rural southern accent outside of LA. MS, AL, GA, SC, TN, maybe TX and AR.
I much prefer the MS and similar flavor to the more Appalachian redneck ones. There’s a trashy edge to it in a lot of places in Upstate SC and WNC. The non trashy folks tend to not have it. I don’t know how to describe it. A little marble mouthed and abrasive despite the twang and drawl. Maybe it’s just white trash everywhere though.

For me it would be Central Virginia—think Richmond, Lynchburg, Charlottesville. It sounds southern, but a more refined southern dialect and less harsh and twangy than what you find in Georgia, Alabama, etc. East Texans speak nicely as well.
The one that most people who are educated enough to know any better think of as southern is that which is spoken natively from the Virgina coast to North Florida...it is the one that most hollywood southern accents are based on...
I speak with a deep southern Appalachian accent. People who speak with a similar accent are actually speaking the closest thing to actual English in the world today...even more so than most of the UK. The deeper into appalchia you go the more english the language gets.

the accent found in the coastal region from Charleston, SC down to Savannah, GA

Texan
there are at least five discernible different accents within Texas. west Texas cowboys, hill country folks (the natives), east Texas piney woods (and even this changes as you go further north, south is more redneck and further north is more twangy), northeast Texas, and south Texas all have way different accents.

I've always loved the drawl-heavy non-rhotic Southern accents. They're getting harder and harder to find in everyday life but I used to hear it in old people all over Alabama.
Kay Ivey definitely has it

A Pittsburgh accent.

I was.
My family is from up there and while I love them to death, that accent is not aesthetically pleasing. Still not as bad/grating as a Boston accent.
Give me a syrupy southern drawl on a hot Southern girl every day of the week.

Is there any accent more annoying than the coonass one?
I do like the Cajun female accent.

In a former job many yrs ago, I would regularly encounter older folk from the hills above Bham. Families usually in the coal mining business. It was hard for me to understand them. Very distinct, but not appealing in the least. Great people though (not rednecks) just hillbillies.
