Is this some sort of weird free pass to just treat everyone they encounter like shite? Is that your angle?
if a cop has had some problems lately and isn't able to treat every member of the public with professionalism and respect, he should take a personal day until he is in the correct mindframe to do so..or find a different job.

ndiana cop fired after body slamming teenage girl
keakar
i see someone refusing to get out of the car as instructed.

cop assisted her in figuring how to get out of the car, and he got fired for it

frick the cops, but i cant say which one in this, between her and the cop, was in the wrong, unless we can hear the conversation they had, to see who was in the wrong

If she was disrespectful she deserved it?

These are the types of cops I think of when something bad happens to a cop.

That's the most asinine logic I've seen in a while.

It is absolutely asinine and yet, there's no shortage of videos of cops using EXACTLY this argument.

They press and ask about searching 8 different ways. THEN, they start saying things like, "you seem nervous" and "well, normally people who aren't guilty consent"..........and eventually, they use YOUR reaction to their repeated attempts as justification to go ahead and search.

I don't know what happened because we can't hear the conversation. But if he told her to step out of the car (and I suspect he did), she was obstructing by not doing so. When Police order you out, you have to get out. This is not speculation, it is clearly written in law.

Again, the cop's own story fricks him.

The only reason he demanded she get out of the car is because she repeatedly said she wanted to know why she was pulled over before providing ID.

Sure. The law doesn't demand he tell. But why in the frick are police so intransigent about telling? What benefit to the situation comes from this? Yet, clearly, they ARE trained not to tell.

So, bottom line. Police seem to sincerely beleive that not telling you why you were pulled over until they see ID is a solid support for getting violent and escalating.

AND THAT IS WHAT IS frickING WRONG WITH POLICING TODAY!

However, we don't need a media frenzy over a few bad cops and a sensationalism of poor cop behavior.

1. The media sucks and half the cases they bitch about just to fan racial flames.

but

2. It is just NOT a few bad cops. The "few bad cops" argument is just completely overwhelmed by the volume of shite cop behavior now caught on video nearly every day all across the nation. But, the REAL thing that kills the "few bad cops" argument is the fact that you've literally NEVER seen a case of a cop truly behaving like shite where there weren't other officers watching it go down. Officers who did jack shite on scene and defended it later.

Exactly. Along with the assholes in the public that defend it.

I mean really/ "Well, uh, duh, she did technically obstruct, so, I'll accept ANYTHING an officer does in that situation!!!!".

The cop in this case said she wanted to know why she was pulled over and he refused to tell her until she gave her ID. The cop believes THIS justified his actions.

If that's the case, then he's wrong.

He's an arrogant power-hungry punk who deserves .... something. Suspension, I guess, but getting fired? Depends on his record.

If that's the full story, or the gist of it, then yeah, F him.

I'm fully aware of RAS.

Alas, for some warped reason, he can refuse to tell you why he pulled you over until HE feels like telling you.

My point was simply that because he CAN be an a-hole doesn't mean that it justifies him getting violent. What possible harm to these dumbass cops think will come from just answering the person? The ONLY harm threatened is that of their pathetic little ego trip of proving they can force you to follow their orders.

Not only is it the case here but a perusal of youtube will net you 75-100 more videos of cops going hands on for ONLY this reason all across the nation. So, it is CLEARLY something police officers are TEACHING each other and something they believe is rational.

Without fail, their departments support them when this shite comes out. WITHOUT FAIL. They always say the same thing. "They refused his commands so.........".

As if just fricking human decency never applies when you have a badge!

You have no fricking idea what a body slam is.

Without the body cam footage and audio this video is worthless because there is no context.

Lastly and most importantly... do what you are told. Cooperate and get the frick out of the car.

This shite would never happen to me or anyone in my family or anyone I know because we understand the police have a difficult job because of assholes that want to argue and not cooperate.

Now... GFY.

Go to the 4:50 part of the video. HE describes it himself.

And actually, upon re-listening, it's even MORE pathetic. He's primarily pissed she won't FULLY open her window.

Imagine being a grown assed man and thinking, "Well, I kinda want her to open the window fully, but I CAN hear her.............but shite, I'm gonna beat her arse anyway".

This was certainly not a good video to show in training - unless you are emphasizing situations to AVOID.

Whaat I saw was well over a minute of respectful dialog which this 18 year old did not seem to comprehend. She was either stupid or worse. F'd around and FO.

I see nothing here to warrant the idiotic 'all cops are evil' meme that seems to have a firm grip on the gonads for a lot of people here who join the BLM chant of "all cops are bad - kill em all"

Of COURSE there are bad examples. And there HAVE been whole departments before with awful histories.

Does NOT mean that every instance of non-perfect behavior should be a reason to re-start this 'cops are all bad' shite

Get over it.

OR - go get a job as a cop and show them all how to do it perfect EVERY TIME.
