I agree with your entire post and I will vote as I always have in every election. Unfortunately I will do so without any excitement or expectation that it matters a lick. For me, it’s not the Dem/ Progressices who’ve stolen my civic vigor, it’s the Republicans. 15- 20 years ago I was full of piss and vinegar and I believed that the TEA party would revitalize our republic. I stayed on top of every topic and tracked every voting record.
Then, one day, I realized, there is no viable alternative party. I have no options anymore. I’m watching rasslin’ on Sunday mornings. These clowns are all in the same circus and all want the same thing. If they fight over anything at all it’s whose team is going to get the most power and grift from the American people. Worse, it seems that this is what the people deserve.
I’ve decided to focus my energy at home. Changing my ways and trying to build my son into a man capable of persevering the devastation he will experience in his lifetime. I’ve tried to engage our local community to help them do the same.

Voting for president doesn’t matter. Local matters some.

What’s your best argument for continuing to believe in the USAs election system?

This is the correct answer

The deep state is blackmailing our elected officials so it can demoralize you.

I’m pretty fricking demoralized right now. Especially bc the owned reps fricking things up right now are from my state.

The only thing we have left to do is vote and not give in to the demoralization. Unfortunately in Louisiana our options are the sucky reps going along with this Uniparty crap.

The only vote that matters in my state and in many states is POTUS . I mean really Dan Crenshaw, Mike Rogers, and Mike Turner, are “republicans” who think the government spying on you is a great idea and that the war in Ukraine is delicious. The primaries are over. So it’s these neocons or communists basically.

The only federal election that matters in most red states is the POTUS. Thats the one they’re trying to demoralize ppl against anyway - bc the POTUS is the only one with the power to get rid of the DS.

When I go vote for President there are a dozen local issues or taxes and elections for stuff like city council and school board. So, are you suggesting that I refrain from voting for President thus saving myself almost one half of one second of time?

Will those of y'all who say you believe that the country has fallen apart so there's no use in voting or anything else please move somewhere else and leave the rest of us alone?

I don't know what you're still doing here if you really think the things you say you think. At a minimum you should have already moved to Montana or North Dakota or Alaska and gotten off the grid.

Thanks,

The only case is that’s it’s genuinely the last hope before you really see the real crap show Lots of rough talkers here, but they have no idea what hard times really look like

In places like Atlanta, Philly, and Detroit it’s a combination of incompetence and some corruption. These cities can do just about whatever they want especially at a voting precinct level and nobody will ever know.

Our system sucks, and maybe voting in general does too, but so far as I've found, it sucks the least.

Our system doesn’t suck. It’s been hijacked by criminals and fifth columnists.

Our system is actually a thing of genius. It’s been hijacked by wholly unamerican pieces of shite.

I will never vote again. The lie is that your vote matters... It really doesn't because the outcome is already determined way before the day that voting takes place.

I hope you do understand you’re not hurting their feelings and are in fact, playing right into what they want you to do.

Last few years seems to provide a telling counter-arguement.

It's clear that voting GOP versus Dem is like choosing between a train hitting you at 50 miles per hour versus 100 miles per hour.

Actually it doesn't. The GOP works against voter's wishes because they keep gettting re-elected. Why would they do anything different? If you're an insulated pol in DC, and you keep getting re-elected easily--why would you think anything was wrong?

Look at the FISA vote. Amost all the Repubilcan "YES" votes are from "safe" states.
