Sounds, or seems, as though the Hebrew State finds itself in a tough spot - go or not to

go. We are learning the US military was a huge factor in protecting the Israelis and causes me to wonder if their defenses are not as stout as led to believe. If the IDF responds I cannot imagine Iran 'staying pat'. If the Iranians respond is there the capability of fending off the sure to be next round?

Further, if Israel chooses not to respond it may signal weakness in some segments - right or wrong. I guess they could say our focus for the time being remains Gaza but that might be a hard sell.

I guess we all simply 'stay tuned' for the next episode of 'As the Middle East Teeters and Todders'.

If Israel responds, Israel would succeed and take out Iran, and win the conflict. But not before Israel is seriously hit and damaged, thousands of missiles are flying all across the Middle East and possibly hundreds of thousands, to millions of civilian casualties, and God knows what could go wrong from all these missiles just flying all over the place.

Is it worth it? Israel took out the IRGC commander, which has a big impact on Israel’s war with Hamas and ongoing piss match with Hezbollah. Iran isn’t willing to retaliate in a way that seriously threatens Israel yet. Iran just wanted to save face and try and win a propaganda war. Very very tough spot here for Israel.

Israel would lose that war without massive support from the US. Their only advantage is air power and that would be mitigated by Russian air defense systems that Iran has.

Iran response was not serious.

Israel should shrug it off and finish the job with Hamas.

There won't be a traditional war between Israel and Iran alone because of all the other countries between them. Even if they were to restrict it to a naval approach and invasion, there are a LOT of countries too deeply invested in Hormuz not being a battle zone to allow it to happen.

Iran stepped on Jordan's toes with their invasion of its airspace, there have already been repercussions for such unwarranted aggressiveness toward another ME country. Israel's response will have to be more guerilla-style (which they have proven to be adept at doing), so anyone expecting something flashy like tanks and waves of air strikes are going to be sorely disappointed.

Israel would wipe Iran off the map if they wanted to. Iran has missiles and people and that’s about it.

Israel is a welfare state that would cease to exist if it wasn’t propped up by the US.

You do realize that Israel has a much larger GDP than Iran? You do realize that a conflict like this would primarily be air war stuff? You do realize that Israel has up to date 5th generation aircraft like the F-35 and lots of F16's ,etc?

From a financial and tech end not only does Israel have the edge, it's a samurai sword in that respect. Also Iran's air force has a lot of old F4's.....some MiG's that keep breaking.

Are you serious????? If they have the S400 system, I'm thinking the Mullahs should start building even deeper underground bunkers. The thing is a joke below 8000 feet...and just funny at higher levels.

Russian systems are crap and at least 25 years behind whatever the West has in its arsenal. Also, you are talking about the Israelis.....maybe the best trained military in the world with the most ruthlessly effective intelligence service.

Once the Mullahs get their nukes and things are more equal, things will get better. Islam just wants the Palestinians to have their own State just like the Jews do.
