He'd have been better off just shutting up and letting people forget about the issue instead of bringing it back up again. Now he just looks like an idiot.
Then he should've had Scott Woodward bring up the issue with the NCAA and/or SEC league office privately. Not hop online and tweet out something that sure looked to every sane person like it was a shot towards the LSU WBB team

Whats depressing is the idiots who just want to win more kids games vs uniting a country suffering great turmoil. But, those opposing Landrys words are the usual suspects, so it shouldnt be that surprising
The anthem was written during a time of war. With the hopes that our symbol of freedom would still be seen with the morning light. It also was the rallying point to which people were freed during an internal conflict of war. Yet those very same people are the ones mocking the sacrifices of Americans that gave everything, so that we can all be free

Dude he took what was event planning and logistics issue between a bunch of parties and turned it into an issue of patriotism. Then wanted to add consequences and in turn assign blame to the people that had nothing to do with the problem (the players).
That's not even taking into account the argument that forced patriotism isn't patriotism at all. Now he is trying to massage his messaging because he realized he made an arse of himself. Would it be nice to have teams present for the anthem....I would say yes. There is a way to have that discussion....this wasn't it.
