er BS? Or NYC is saying that he somehow violated some regs to earn the money that he used? That seems like a hell of a stretch. But honestly don't know what kind of weak footing they're standing on this time.
As a business owner with no partners I’m still not allowed to use business funds to pay for personal expenses. Even though I’m solely responsible for profit and loss, business expenses have to be business related. If not every company would show zero profit. I wish I could pay my mortgage or get a massage with business funds. I can take a payment from the company and then use those funds any way I like, but I can’t list hookers as a business expense.

You can’t deduct those expenses. Has it been alleged that Trump deducted the NDA payment? And what jurisdiction does a Manhattan DA have over Trump’s tax returns?
Also, the payment happened in 2006. Why is it being brought now? Defending this clear political prosecution is pathetic.

Yet slick Willie can get polished off in the Oval Office and that's okay.

CNN, I'd rather watch two flies phuck.

It's the NY business records law and the company is incorporated in NY.

Isn't this based on improper campaign fund usage or some other BS?
Not directly. I think that's an ancillary issue.
The issue is the wacky NY business records and, allegedly, using the company money to pay it off, hiding the payment as a legal payment to Cohen.

Why not just answer the question?

How does a NY DA not have standing to bring a prosecution based in NY law?

The problem is how he was repaid the money, and why he was repaid the money in the first place.
IIRC Cohen also said Trump did not repay him. It has been awhile but he may have changed his tune.

There was one of 2 things
1. Cohen embezzled money from Trump to pay Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal
2. There was a scheme to hide the fact the payments to various women came from Trump.

I thought about that. And I don’t know NY law. Do they not have a department of revenue that handles returns? And did he deduct the payment? And are misdemeanors subject to the fraud exclusion to the SOL? I don’t know the answers to this. It just seems like an extreme reaction that is clearly politically motivated.

Stormy is either guilty of perjury or there is no case for the NY prosecutor to prosecute. Period.
Even if he did pay her what would the crime be if no campaign funds were used?
No one I've ever heard of in US legal history has been the victim of more bogus cases than Donald J Trump. The question every pundit on the right should be asking the NY DA is "has anyone in your jurisdiction ever been prosecuted for this crime and if not why are you pursuing charges against Trump during a political campaign?"
Even moderate Americans are seeing this for what it is: an obvious example of using the justice system against a political opponent.

A plan to hide a payment from the public does not in and of itself constitute a crime unless a statute is violated.

Thats a good point, I wonder what the statute of limitations is on something like this, we're closing in on 20 years later.

What your over/under on how many days the prosecution and judge cancels hearing during this trial. I am going with 8 days.
The judge seemed to show his hand that Trump had to be in court everyday. This sham is about making sure Trump cannot campaign for as long as possible. The judge is going to let the prosecution drag this trial out as long as possible. We are going to see witnesses with no meaningful information, court days called off early, and never ending deference to anything the prosecution asks.
They are already saying 8 weeks, this should be two weeks , maybe 3 max.

Jack Smith. Sorry if I got the array of fake cases against Trump mixed up.
Actually, not sorry, as they're all being directed by Soros & Obama

Was also a known womanizer. Even Bragg doesn't seriously believe any MAGA would say "Oh, he banged Stormy? Nevermind."
Point is to get a biased jury to ignore the facts.
