So he’s saying this is all I can do for now, give me a better majority after November and judge me on that work. I’m inclined to give him that chance before pulling the plug on him. If he disappoints then, frick him, get him out. But now is not a fair sample size, IMO.
Your post was a very fair assessment to date and I’m inclined to agree.

Need names. I know this is a message board and venting or whatever.
But things are getting real in the real world and words matter.
Tryin to figure out who would be better than Johnson.
Same people who took down McCarthy have offered zero by way of solutions nor leadership. As expected.
Johnson is exponentially more conservative than McCarthy yet here we are.

Three bills will also have a harder time than one giant bill.
They need to split things up far more often. Get reps on record for what they really support.
Massive bills always have tons of crap in them that the rep may very well be against but is forced to vote for to get the things they do want through.
This is how we always move to the left. The crap no one talks about in these big bills.

Maybe keep going until we get someone who isn’t a GD liar? That’s an option

I think Johnson would look very different to the reactionaries if he had a 40 vote majority versus 2(?).

No one before him ever has. It’s always been AWATALAD regardless the margin

3 bills for each situation. I like it that way and have no problem with this.
At least the dummies have figured out how to separate them.
But the senate won't pass them, they'll make it an omnibus and include welfare for China.

He didn't have to bring that monster 2 trillion dollar bill to the floor regardless of the majority.

2 trillion?

Pump money the defend the BORDERS OF OTHER COUNTRIES WHILE DOING NOTHING FOR OUR OWN POROUS BORDER???
He refused to bring the border protection bill for even a debate. No debate, no amendments or adjustments. No action. That’s what republicans are voting for. Gridlock

Nah. We’re 34,000,000,000,000 in debt. Stop fighting proxy wars and stop freeloaders walking across the border. This isn’t hard

Johnson has given the Dems everything they want and yet people here (and Trump) still line up to make excuses for him. This coward cast the deciding vote on the Biggs amendment to require warrants and follow the Constitution - and Johnson said 'no'.
There's no way to defend him. He voted against the Constitution.

You don’t take anything seriously from anyone who might support Trump.

He’s bringing single issue votes to the floor to let the democratic process play out.
He’s doing his job. If Dems and some republicans want to approve those bills, then those congressmen need to be dealt with.

Yeah I thought he made this promise when he first started.
ETA: October 2023: Ukraine, Israel funding request should be split: House speaker

It’d be nice to know specifically who would be better right now as Speaker. Be specific. Name the actual person. Don’t cop out. Name your top three.
He is in the senate, but the only one I could potentially believe would do the right thing is Rand Paul.
The reality is they are all compromised and could be dealt with in short order if they really do the right thing. It would take some balls to go against the defense contractors and deep state. Look at what has happened to Trump for going against the system. Trump has stupid money and doesn’t give a shite so he can do things against the established way. Very few people like that in politics that are interested in going against the established way.

If the republicans had a 40 vote majority, guys like McCarthy and Johnson wouldn’t be speaker.
