Was it a mistake for Jewish people to live near Arab-dominated Middle East?

Religions clash.
Jews and Arabs can't get along, I don't it possible.

They’d find them anywhere they are.
It doesn’t matter.

Since God gave them the land, where else should they live?

Probably should have lived somewhere safe like Germany or the USSR.

No. It’s a ridiculous notion from top to bottom and every point in between.

Israel has a large population of Arabs who live and work in Israel.
I would show you a chart of how many (non-hostage) Jews live/work in Gaza, but I don't need a chart to show zero.
It's not Arabs that are the problem for Jews, it's Muslims.

Was it a mistake for Native Americans to settle in North America with the Europeans coming?

Yes. But that is in the past now.

What a pointless question, they’ve been there for thousands of years, well before the Muslim faith.

You seem to forget that there were Jews there before Islam was even thought of.

For the same reasons he turned his back on them countless times in the OT.

It's their ancestral homeland. Almost all of Jewish Biblical history occurred in Judea and Samaria, which the world conveniently calls the West Bank. Calling it the West Bank is a tactic to eradicate the past and the Jews' claim to the land. (Think of the 1619 crap, or tearing down Confederate statues. It's the same thing.) God said He would bring the Jewish people back into their own land in the last days. Anyone who dares dispute what He swore He would do is a fool.
I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. They will plant vineyards and gardens; they will eat their crops and drink their wine.I will firmly plant them there in their own land. They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the LORD your God. - Amos 9:14-15.
