I think the first step to making this not as complicated, is to stop using a book from thousands of years ago as the basis for foreign policy. Cause if we’re gonna do that, then all of you should be in support of Native Americans reclaiming their lands. It’s creating hypocrisy.
Loads of hypocrisy. In reality, the ancient Israelites were simply Canaanites who occupied the land. But their justification is that they were foreigners of Babylonian origin who had to take the land by slaughtering the native people including their babies. It makes it morally justified because God said to do.

Damn I guess frick King Saul, and King David, and King Solomon, huh?
Israel has been a nation with its capital being Jerusalem since biblical times.

What the frick does 2600 years ago have to do with this podcast. Cooper really does not go into all that. He starts off in Russia a the pogroms against the Jews in the late 1800s and how Weitzman lobbies for a back to Palestine campaign before WWI.
So much of this starts after WWI and the collapse of the Ottomans who had ruled the place for close to 500 years at that point. All the Biblical b.s. is irrelevant and what was Judea and what was Israel.....or Samaria or that Palestine was a name derived from the Greeks who had named the place because the Philistines were most probably from Crete.
We're looking at the birth of the modern Zionist movement and how it shaped everything since.

I know there’s a difference between the Kingdom of Israel and the current Nation of Israel. I didn’t know what point you were trying to make by your post.
