I’m driving home from Orange Beach to Prairieville tomorrow morning. Should I just assume I’m going to be going through this at some point? I plan on leaving around 6:30-7 which would put me back in town around 11.

It’s great for a simple weatherman like myself.
That's all you need. I still haven't gotten a weather station. I just have a rain gauge and a decent indoor/outdoor digital thermometer.

Yeah, you'll have to deal with it to some degree. The earlier you can leave the better.

I've asked before, but I'm still looking for a decent weather station.
Don't need anything fancy. Just whatever around a hundred bucks can do.

I believe this is around $100. Super easy to set up. I recommend it.

I have one from AcuRite. Also just an Amazon special my wife got me. It works fine for the basics. It's sort of a middle aged man rite of passage

There’s a brand called Ambient that makes some really good ones that aren’t too difficult to set up. I’ve had a couple of them and they’ve been good. You can also link them to the Ambient network and Weather Underground so that you can view your data on an app/website from anywhere.
Davis is the premier brand for weather stations, but their products probably exceed what most people need.

I think they all have the same complaints around that price point, which is mostly longevity issues. There's a gulf between the more consumer grade units and the higher end ones with not a whole lot of middle ground. I don't think you can go wrong with most of them. I've almost bought the Accurite kit that Lowe's sells a couple of times.
There's actually a website that reviews a bunch of different units.

Shite is getting real in Rankin county ms. Tornado sirens just started going off.

Of course, the warned couplet is going to pass right over the Jackson radar.

What are the expected rain totals for tomorrow? Thanks

This is bad to say, but maybe it’ll knock down that water tower that’s blocking the radar to the southwest.

It's finally lightening up here in Brownsville/ Pocahontas. Lights trying to hang in, I hope.

Did you get some hail? Tennis ball-sized hail reported at Flora.

I was just looking at the hail on radar North of Jackson. That's legit for a QLCS.

Yes, not sure how big it was. It didn't seem so bad here, maybe once it got closer to Pocahontas it picked up.
