I have a camp just east of Braxton MS. Any reports of damage or flooding there?

The weather hasn’t reached Braxton yet. It looks like just isolated thunderstorms down that way though.

Depending on how old the gas is it could have water or just junk in it and it's clogging somewhere in the line or up against the filter

ETA: also could be getting air from somewhere

Also nothing else going on but it is raining like a cow pissing on a flat rock in Tennsippibama right now

I never get to say that in these threads so I'm excited

Hmmmmmm...well we didn't catch a hurricane last year so...year before that? It's been in the shed. I only put a little gas in to see if it would crank

Hmmm.....my thought would be 1. Bad gas 2. Fuel filter

Sadly any other situation first thing I'd do is fill it up with fresh gas to help with whatever bad gas is in there but since you really don't want to just run a generator for the hell of it idk that that makes sense

May just have to siphon the gas that's in it out and start with new though it sounds like you haven't put much in it to start with

ETA: you may know this but if it isn't gonna be used very often use non ethanol gas in it

Baton Rouge commuters should probably plan on an earlier or later start than normal. Will be in town right at rush hour.

Yeah I think I'm just gonna run to the ethanol free pump and get some fresh gas and see if that does it. I didn't even put enough gas in to register on the gauge so I think that might fix it. Hoping anyway

Well, put a couple of gallons of ethanol free in but no dice. Once it comes off of choke it sputters and kills.

What happens if I run it on choke? Not enough power?

Well so much for getting the generator set up. I got one damn storm out of it. (Though I was incredibly thankful)

Guess it's time to call some buddies who know more than me and see if we can't get it running. Hope I don't need to. Probably some gunk up in the carburetor

Sounds like a case of carburetor removal denial syndrome.

12 pack of beer, take it apart, stick a wire brush bristle through all the little jet holes, put it back together, watch it purr.

You have a clogged idle jet. The jet is very tiny and clogs easily and prevents idling.

Is this the first real storm where we have the new Hammond radar station up?

Pretty much. Wish I would have realized it earlier so I could have gone to my buddies or brother's house and got it done.

Midnight with a storm bearing down is too little too late.

Gonna just expect a dark day tomorrow and pray it doesn't get too bad. I don't have the tools or the time now.

I expect tomorrow is gonna make me wish I still drank.

I wouldn't run it the rest of its life that way but for a few days? Won't hurt a thing other than burn extra fuel

ETA: assuming it's running ok with it on, sometimes they'll get to surging or even sputtering if it's left on
