So, not one of all you MF who responded to this thread served in the military or believe the team should be out there for the National Anthem?
I've served 23 years in the Marine Corps and I can tell you what I swore to defend. I/We swore to oath to defend the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Not a damn flag. Now, with all due respect, the flag represents FREEDOM. And in that freedom, you have a freedom to stand/sit/kneel or not attend.

I hate this idiot and his virtue signaling.

Love how this UL guy lectures our flagship university. You can expect this for 4 more years. Lets elect a LSU guy next time.

Honestly, Landry is so stupid that he will never respond to reason, only to power. A recall petition that actually was handled seriously might the one of the only things he would respond to...
All that matters is what the consequences are for Jeff. Beyond that, he does not care.

Landry supposedly passed a bill that would eliminate Louisiana from having to follow the UN and WHO if orders are given. That's a big plus.

Republicans are fine with government overreach as long as long as it reaches a goal that they agree with.
And I'm not a Democrat, so you won't catch me defending them either. I believe both sides of the aisle are toxic and have completely lost their way in terms of serving their true purpose.
Mitch McConnell and Nancy Pelosi are two sides of the same putrid coin.

The party line right now is "check what positions the Dems favor/oppose. Loudly propose the opposite. Profit".

In 2027, unless he steps aside or runs for another office, it will be the first time in my life that I vote Democrat. The Republican party lost its way when Obama was president. The patients are running the nuthouse that is the RNC.

TeamLSU:
I agree with everything you said except the kneeling. If you are an athlete and you want to protest do it on your own personal time. I am not allowed to protest at work. They have plenty of social media platforms to do that or on their own time. If you are representing LSU and you are out there for the Anthem you stand or you don't play.

Forced compliance patriotism is not patriotic it’s actually the opposite.

Now that’s some funny shite right here. As bad as republicans are there is nothing that democrats offer that is worth voting for. Y’all wonder why Louisiana is the way it is. Do all Louisiana a favor and just don’t vote anymore

Pretty much. Around 35% turnout got him elected with the fewest votes since 1987 when Edwin Edwards withdrew from the runoff putting Buddy Roemer in with around 516,000. Outside of that, you have to go back to 1964 for someone to get put in office with fewer votes than Landry.

TBH that's pretty much everybody in politics. Anyone who's truly principled is relegated to the fringes.
