Maybe they can raise the minimum wage to $25 and solve the problem?

My daughter, who is a shift lead at Starbucks, now makes $27 an hour because of this. It's insane what the dems have done out here.

They picked on fast food because many minimum wage industries can easily move to a new state. Fast food restaurants can close, but they aren't in a position to move.

Also, how much money is a company allowed to make?

Has nothing to do with the original argument of raising wages will raise obviously have to raise costs.

A straw man fallacy (sometimes written as strawman) is the informal fallacy of refuting an argument different from the one actually under discussion, while not recognizing or acknowledging the distinction.

Keep shilling for those billion dollar companies though.

Put something in place to help “poor” workers. Now those poor workers have to pay more for their fast food lol

Oh good for you. Instead of countering my argument with any reasonable facts or counter arguments you instead chose to attack my education.

quote:

Ad hominem (Latin for 'to the person'), short for argumentum ad hominem, refers to several types of arguments which are fallacious. Typically this term refers to a rhetorical strategy where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself. This avoids genuine debate by creating a personal attack as a diversion often using a totally irrelevant, but often highly charged attribute of the opponent's character or background.

Reduce a companies profit by 25-33% and see what happens to the company. Hint, it’s not nothing.

Eta
I realize now that my $3.9 billion increase in labor costs is not all attributed to McDonalds.

JFC. People are paying $17 for a fast food meal? That's beyond retarded.

You are aware most small businesses aren’t billion or even million dollar companies don’t you? My dad owned a mechanic shop and in the 90s his business brought in around 400k, he cleared around 80k. Do you understand how this kind of stuff works?

They should have really looked at number of employees. The places that could carry an extra person or 2 are going to cut them. Or they can help install the kiosk and teach it to do their job.

These price increases are a complete coincidence.

Anything more than about a 10% increase in average item price is based on factors outside of just their increase in cost due to the wage increase.

Labor cost in fast food is about 25% of revenue. The $20 min wage represents a 25% increase over the current general min wage so still less than a 10% increase in costs. The 53% increase in the fish sandwich meal can not be completely attributed directly to the increase in min wage at all, there are other factors at play there.

Whatever raise the minimum wagers got is already gone. Impossible that so many people do not understand how this works. And I'm referring to the educated fools.

So let me get this straight. If you refund the police, crime surges? If you make hard core drugs legal, ODs increase? If you decriminalize shoplifting, stealing increases? And if you increase the minimum wage by 20%, the business will simply pass that cost on to the consumer? shite man, you learn something new everyday.

Tell me what happens? Who makes less money? because I need economics classes remember I'm just a dumb guy. So by all means you made the statement I didn't. If Mcdonalds makes 10 billion a year as opposed to 14 billion a year and decides to not artifically raise prices to compensate. What exactly happens?
