On August 18, 2011, President Obama issued Executive Order 13583-- Establishing a Coordinated Government-wide Initiative to Promote Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in the Federal Workforce, which calls for all federal agencies to develop and implement a strategic plan for Diversity and Inclusion. Private corporations were urged to do the same-and many did.

This concept, put into effect as a non-legislative presidential order, peaked in 2021, but companies have quickly grown weary of its effects. The results are that many have or are in the process of abandoning this concept. LINK
Texas A&M ceased theirs last year, and Texas just announced the termination of their DEI department as well.

Do we know the DEI status of the other universities in the SEC?

LSU has one but they renamed it recently and put it under a different moniker to give the appearance that we don’t have one

It’s now the Division of Engagement, Civil Rights and Title IX

My old alma mater (non-SEC) is rife with DEI robots in strategic admin positions. They're arrogant and indignant and have no concept of time or excellence. For the non-believers, you should witness it first-hand if ever given the chance.

Victor Davis Hanson - in his trademark style - calmly and objectively dissects this insidious cancer and exposes it for what it is. The DEI Ruse Is Imploding

Also worth a look is the Podcast featuring he and Jordan Peterson. Much discussion on "Tribalism". LINK

More light needs to be shed on the DEI issue. It's more serious than we make it out to be, IMHO. Don't assume your friends, neighbors, and children already know.

DEI for LIFE: "Does DEI mean lifetime tenure on the rationale that once standards are no longer purely meritocratic in hiring, they must similarly remain nonmeritocratic for lifelong tenure?"

"In the end, DEI will implode because of its many contradictions: it is racist to the core; it is illegal and violates court decisions and the Constitution; it destroys meritocracy; and it is utterly incoherent in adjudicating who and who not deserve racial preferences."

I hope he's right... I never in a million years thought this to be possible. I see signs of $$ drying up from disillusioned donors, setting the stage for collegiate "ghettos" of the future.

On a practical level, their aversion to the concept of excellence and work ethic is still baked into their cognitive DNA even after centuries of being plucked from their homeland. Related: Black People and Morality. At a minimum, it makes a pretty case (in general) for explaining the lethargic, crime-ridden nature of the black culture.

"It has been suggested that the reason Black people have a tendency to indolence is that they evolved in conditions where little effort was needed to survive."

"Black people have difficulties with the concept of time, which is presumably connected with the fact that many African languages have no words for the past or future."

"In the case of truth-telling, Black people do not lack the concept. They can grasp this; what they cannot do is see why they should apply it if they think that an advantage might be gained by lying. What is missing is again the sense of obligation, in this case the obligation to be honest. It is perhaps in lacking this basic aspect of the most basic requirement of morality that Black people differ most from the other races."

"It is not surprising that Blacks blame Whites for their misdeeds since Whites are the first to blame themselves. They do not blame Black people for failing to work but blame themselves for not employing them."

"Another theory is that Africans cannot internalise imperatives. A study carried out in Senegal found that no matter how many times the Senegalese are told not to do something, it does not get into their heads that they mustn’t do it. Moral constraints must therefore be imposed from outside. "

Im sure all of them do in some form. Though I believe the Aggies and Utx are dropping theirs soon if not already, since the state passed a law forbidding it. Now I'm sure the people will be moved around so things will be underground or just change the name but a good start.

UF too I believe.

So in other words they talk about Black people lying but yet do not address the HISTORY of America and who wrote the books. And all the LIES that were written and the TRUTH is NEVER told. How about them address those lies.

Missouri has one but it should be in the process of being phased out.

Florida got rid of all of theirs in the state.

I would guess every single other school in the SEC has one (other than A&M).

College football is a DEI entitlement if you really want to dissect how athletes are let into college to play football.

OU checking in:

Wednesday, December 13, 2023
Today, Governor Kevin Stitt signed Executive Order 2023-31, implementing greater protections for Oklahomans and their tax dollars against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).

quote:

“In Oklahoma, we’re going to encourage equal opportunity, rather than promising equal outcomes,” said Governor Stitt. “Encouraging our workforce, economy, and education systems to flourish means shifting focus away from exclusivity and discrimination, and toward opportunity and merit. We’re taking politics out of education and focusing on preparing students for the workforce.”

quote:

The order requires state agencies and institutes for higher education to initiate a review of DEI positions, departments, activities, procedures, and programs to eliminate and dismiss non-critical personnel. State agencies and institutions for higher education shall not utilize state funds, property, or resources to:

quote:

Grant or support diversity, equity, and inclusion positions, departments, activities, procedures, or programs to the extent they grant preferential treatment based on one person’s particular race, color, sex, ethnicity, or national origin over another’s;

quote:

mandate any person to participate in, listen to, or receive any education, training, activities, procedures, or programming to the extent such education, training, activity, or procedure grants preferences based on one person’s particular race, color, sex, ethnicity, or national origin over another’s;

quote:

mandate any person swear, certify, or agree to any loyalty oath that favors or prefers one particular race, color, sex, ethnicity, or national origin over another;

quote:

mandate any person to certify or declare agreement with, recognition of, or adherence to, any particular political, philosophical, religious, or other ideological viewpoint;

quote:

mandate any applicant for employment provide a diversity, equity, and inclusion statement or give any applicant for employment preferential consideration based on the provision of such a diversity, equity, and inclusion statement; or

quote:

mandate any person to disclose their pronouns.

quote:

"I remember growing up, my mom told me: 'Life isn’t going to be easy, you have to work hard,'" said Tamera, a senior at the University of Oklahoma. "This executive order is important because it challenges students from across Oklahoma, and the country, to not only try but to do their best. We have to raise the bar in Oklahoma, and I’m thankful for Governor Stitt for everything he’s done today."

quote:

"As a nation, we strive for equality of opportunity to give every young person a chance at achieving their American Dream," said Patrice Onwuka, director of Independent Women’s Forum’s Center for Economic Opportunity. "Race, ethnicity, gender, and heritage should not be used to discriminate against any person. Yet, discriminatory DEI programming has done damage on college campuses—fomenting division between students, eroding free speech rights, threatening academic freedom, and bloating school bureaucracies, which in turn drives up tuition costs. Furthermore, these efforts do not prepare young women and men for the diverse workforce that values aptitude, grit, and skill, not a sense of entitlement driven by victimhood. We applaud Governor Stitt and the state for taking leadership on removing discriminatory and divisive race-based programming and staffing from Oklahoma colleges and universities. Every student deserves a campus free from discrimination. Thankfully, legal protections already outlaw race-and sex-based discrimination, but this executive order guards against efforts to bypass those protections."

quote:

"For years, universities and government agencies, even those in red states, have become increasingly beholden to a coercive liberal agenda, often framed under the banner of DEI," said David Safavian, general counsel for the American Conservative Union. "The transformation of these institutions has been exposed following the response by major universities in the aftermath of the October 7th terror attack by Hamas. Especially with that in mind, CPAC applauds Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt for acting through executive order today to take down DEI in all of Oklahoma’s government. Abolishing DEI bureaucracies and ending mandatory 'diversity' training and DEI hiring statements will ensure Oklahoma’s institutions can focus on the diversity of ideas, rather than shame-based political activism. Oklahomans can take pride in knowing that the content of their character will matter more than the color of their skin."

Damage done.

May not have fully won over the entire country, but it's burrowed into the hide of society enough.

It needs to be fully extracted. Like a tick from a hound's arse.
