Upgrading rear shocks on F150 and wanted to see if anyone has some real world experience with these. Bilstein 5100 or Fox 2.0.
Just looking to plant the truck a little better over bumps and maybe soften the ride up a little.
ETA: 2022 F150 2.5” front level

Had 5100s on my last three trucks. I love them.

Fox. I've run Fox and Kings on everything the last few years and love both. 5100's aren't a bad lower priced shock, but I've always preferred Fox given the choice.

I put 5100s on my 2017 F150 at about 80k miles. I really don’t like them. I didn’t expect them to ride smoother, but I expected more composed handling, like when hitting bigger bumps at highway speeds. It’s worse than stock, honestly.

5100s on my F150, feel great.

I put the 5100’s on the rear of my current f150. I can’t say I noticed any ride difference but it did eliminate fishtailing and loose back-end when hitting bumps

This is what I expected but did not observe.

I was sort of leaning to the fox because now I’m hearing they ride a little softer than the bilstein. You’ve had all 4 or just the rears?

I removed the Bilstein 5100 and added Fox 2.0 to my Front suspension.
Fox 2.0 > Bilstein 5100
Fox 2.0 > Bilstein 5100

I have the adjustable 5100s in the front and the regular ones in the rear. They make the truck ride more like a truck, which is a good thing IMO. Stock f150s roll in turns pretty badly and the 5100s eliminate that. They also eliminate any squatting when I pull my boat and make it easier to pull trailers with heavier tongue weight.
I've got no experience with the Fox shocks.

5160s
Rock auto suprisingly the cheapest.
Not that you'll ever need the external resi... But they are bomb proof.
Edit... No bilstein rides soft until you get to the 8100s.
If you want ride quality, you want icon.

if you do not pull anything, fox, if you pull anything, go Bilstein..

These are all pretty comparable to be honest. Unless you are doing any serious off-roading, either of these will get you what you are looking for.
Pay attention to your choice of tire as this will have a big impact that your shocks won't be able to overcome.
