Agreed. If I see a snake in the road I intentionally hit it and will occasionally reverse to make sure its dead.
How the hell is that any different than intentionally hitting any other wild animal?

Interesting note: Squirrels don't take fall damage. There isn't a high enough drop that can seriously injure or kill them (assuming it is a straight drop and they don't hit something on the way down and start cartwheeling). They're better than cats in that regard.

On the flip side, came across a guy stopped his bumper sticker loaded civic in a blind curve helping a turtle to the road.

I saw a squirrel get hit a few weeks back about a minute before my house n it was flopping around still half alive.
I intentionally missed it so the people behind me wouldn’t think I hit it
Should have put it out of its misery but I ain’t getting followed home by some peta a-hole.

I was about to say maybe he tried to avoid it and hit it but then you said this:
That’s ridiculous.
I almost got out of my car the other day to move a turtle off the road and this dude is trying to hit them.

Are squirrels fair game though?

Agreed. I have expertisely tried to avoid hitting a squirrel, only to fail. Felt bad. But to the person driving behind me, it probably looked like I was an expert squirrel killing super driver.

That shite is dangerous. There was story not long ago of a guy who got killed doing that. Left behind a couple kids I believe.

Sounds like your average truck driver.

I was thinking the same thing. Snake ain't hurting anything and poses no danger to you whatsoever.
I have pulled over and helped turtles cross the road... now, I wouldn't help a snake, but I'd go around it.
And geese... geese don't give a crap. They cross the road and don't get in a hurry about it and if you stop and honk thinking it will hurry them up, you are wrong. They'll stop or look directly at you and walk slower.

I sometimes see rats darting across streets in NO. I always try to hit them.
I try to avoid any other animals, though.

A while back I was standing in my back yard. We have a huge pecan tree. I saw a cat sized squirrel chasing another jumping branch to branch. Well he misjudged the last jump and came up short. He must’ve fallen a good 15’ or so and it sounded like someone slammed a shoe against concrete when he hit the pavers. Fella bounced back up looked around and ran off.

???? Wut? Maybe that particular snake at that particular moment, but in 2 weeks he may kill your dog or kid.

If you hit a turtle just right with your wheel you can fling him like a frisbee.
