I know NOTHING of Dawn Staley nor do I care to but NO paper could remotely go "after" a black woman. Look at the shitty Black Woman mayor's in this country, they know they can't be touched because all they have to do is pull race card or say Trump supporters. No matter how poorly they are doing their job.

I know her father personally and used to run with her brother. They are both great people and yes it’s know locally that her and her father had a falling out many moons ago.

There were also quotes defending Mulkey in the article that you seemed to have skipped over. (One that a player states very clearly Mulkey does not treat gay players unfairly)

In the end this article followed the path of the Brian Kelly one (that Mulkey wrongfully labeled a hit piece as well).

The most unfair undertones of all this is Mulkey coaches like many of her male counterparts. With tough love & discipline. Yet there is a very clear double standard involved when it comes to females

I hear a Tickfaw wedding without at least three deaths is considered a dull affair.

UCLA has a very good team. Maybe the extra motivation helped us. I’ll take it, and hopefully a possible hit piece on Jay and his baseball team will be next.

Who cares if it was an actual hit piece in the end or not, it was obviously not intended to be an even-handed treatment of Kim, and in the end it fizzled. Why keep trying to defend it on any level?

correcting inaccurate information is not defending. That is something this board routinely gets wrong.

When I am actually defending something, you will know it.

We will never know, but I would be willing to bet that the “delay” was the la times legal team rewriting the article.

Quick, the LA Times needs your policing in that other thread, Lester
Likely loads of LesterEarl-deemed inaccuracies over there for you to corral for the good of the board

After reading that article it was either

A) never anything that wasn't known or
B) extremely sanitized after any and all falsehoods were removed under fear of legal action

LA times article was really the “hit piece”.

Author had to go back and edit it which is pretty good.

The clown UCLA coach retweeted it then apologized for the re tweet after they lost and she stormed off the court.

Yesterday was awesome on many different fronts

What none of us know and will never know is what the editors at the WaPo did to the story between Thursday and Saturday once threatened with a lawsuit. One thing is clear from the article: Mulkey’s lawyers were consulted.

The hit piece was a nothing burger and, sure, more people read the nothing burger as a result of Mulkey’s press conference than otherwise would have.

But was it a nothing burger all the way, or did Kim achieve exactly what she wanted by avoiding the more salacious stuff?

We will never no for sure but I personally am of the opinion that Kim neutered Babb in more ways than one.

I agree along with the writer for the LA Times. This has become rather humorous and she will have the last laugh.

Evil does not take the day off. Evil attacked KM and her basketball team from two publications yesterday. The UCLA coach was complicit.

Apologies and acts of contrition were given because of the unexpected blowback. The offending parties were never sorry for their actions.

Why forgive disingenuous evil? When the offending parties actually seek a heartfelt forgiveness and endeavor to be workers in the light, then any day on the calendar is a good day to forgive.

the dirty debutantes comment. He should have googled first
Do you honestly think he didn't know exactly what he was implying with that?

These guys are so used to being unchallenged that they're shocked whenever anyone actually calls them out. He was probably smiling all night about how clever he was with that "subtle" dirty debutantes reference. Now he's thinking, oh shite, I hope my spineless colleagues have enough guts to circle the wagons and defend me on this one.
