What's the story on this under offered 4 star?

I don't know much about him specifically, but he's another example of why we never really need to go all out for out of state WRs (especially if they aren't generational guys). And we never really have to fret about losing a specific guy.

On3 doesnt even have him ranked, while 247 has him as a 4 star. He must know somebody at 247.

You'd think he'd have some better offers though especially with all the assistants out there who have LA ties...

He visited a couple of werks ago. Im guessing like the others hes a spring eval/summer camp kid. Still curious who and why the Destrehan offer went out

With the talent on the top of the WR board right now he's definitely a wait and see for later. We just have some huge fish we can definitely land still at WR.

Or - and I know this sounds totally crazy but hear me out, here - he has flown under the radar and 247 just updated more recently than on3.
(Btw, it takes one second to see that as of 3 weeks ago 247 didn’t have him rated or ranked either)

Negative. Offer him now and get him onboard then let the out of state players fall where they may

Multiple things here are a possibility.
Had he been to many camps yet? Summer camps will help him out.
Has he had grade issues? Teams will be reticent to offer guys they think will not qualify academically.
Does he have unresolved or frequent disciplinary/legal issues? Those will sour all the major programs on all but the very top level talents.
Probably a few other things I am not thinking of are possible. The first one is the most likely, not enough teams have seen him yet. Camps and his coaches can help get him looked at by more programs.

I was hoping someone would clarify whether it was grade or discipline issues. Thought someone might know him since he's local and go to bat for the kid....

I'm just guessing but he probably needs to hit a few camps. We should know more by end of summer.

His best offers are like Texas Tech, ULL, Ark State and UTSA. We have plenty of time to wait it out there. We generally dont offer LA kids unless we are willing to take their commitment, he is not a committable guy right now

Doesn’t stand out on the field. Possibly due to a bad team but Brian Thomas was a DUDE on bad walker teams

YES he’s one of the country best jumpers he also broke the state high school record last year in the 400m. He hasn't been to ANY camps. LSU say they will offer once he comes to camp and performs because he new to football. Joe has been to Scotlandville a number of times checking on him. Qb position hurt him last year so he only got maybe 2 or 3 targets a game and plus they double covered him EVERY PLAY because that’s all they have! And he has no off the field issues he’s a great kid!! I’m very close to the situation
