What's the bombshell report about the Women's Utah basketball team?

Roberts made the revelation after the team lost to Gonzaga in the second round of the tournament. She said the incidents occurred Thursday night after the team arrived in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, for the games being played in Spokane, Washington. Without going into specifics, Roberts said the incidents were disturbing to the party and it sparked concerns about their safety.

From what I have found, a dude in a truck was revving his engine and yelling the N-word at the team as they walked down the sidewalk. That part of the country has had its share of allegations about white dudes behaving badly.
If all of it is true, I can see being bothered by it and it needs to be called out.
Calling it a "hate crime", though? Nope.
If being an a-hole was a crime, we would all be locked up by now.

I read an article about the racist atrocities that these women had to endure. it was highlighted by the fact that NBC news capitalized Black and Latina but not white.
