5 vials of antivenom, Yorkie didn't make it. Called it at 2 am this morning. GSP is doing better, eating and drinking, swelling is still very bad. Might keep him another night.
Best guess is juvenile snake and they both got a large dose of venom.

That juvenile massive venom dose is a myth

I’m so sorry for your loss
“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.” – Dean Koontz

I had a dog get bit by a juvenile copperhead and the swelling was as bad as or worse than any I had ever seen.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that. Sweet pup. Hope y'all are hanging in there.
We moved in 2022 to a house with a large yard, flowing rainwater creek, etc. which attracts a lot of wildlife (for the part of the city we are in, at least) and at first I was sad that my dog is elderly and can't enjoy it like she would have 5+ years ago.
But then I see stories like this, and maybe I'm glad she doesn't have the energy to do more than sit on the porch.
... Not to say I haven't caught a snake on my porch twice already..
