Turning Point: The Bomb and The Cold War - Netflix

Highly recommend watching this series. While I was very knowledgeable about the events, I think this program did an excellent job retelling the entire story of the Nuclear arms race, the rise and fall of communism, and associated geopolitics leading to current events today. I did not think it was politically slanted and was a great historical telling of events as they happened and interviews with some really interesting figures that were witnesses to these events as they occurred, for example Condoleezza Rice being in the state department during the fall of the Berlin Wall. Some interesting info contained that I did not know about many of these big world events.
Has anyone else watched it?

Call me paranoid, but with how the left is actively working to rewrite history, I'm reluctant to watch any historical documentary on Netflix, Prime, etc..

I've seen most of it and it's really good. Seems to be a very honest portrayal of historical events surrounding Russia, the Cold War, and Putin. I haven't seen the Ukraine finale yet.
Didn't feel like this one was politically slanted very much at all. There are some Left Options here an there, but overall very balance. I'm surprised that this didn't turn out to be Ukraine propaganda; would love to see more productions like this one.

Exactly, I was also concerned about a political slant on it, but it was really direct and accurate history. I highly recommend.
I will say that I have a very different view of Russia and Putin in particular. The fall of the soviet union really left a mess that the world is still dealing with today. The documentary really illustrates how countries like the US just breathed a big sigh of relief when USSR collapsed and then relaxed, clocked off work, and didnt do much else except worry about how to coral all of the nukes. When in reality Russia really needed quite a bit of assistance and guidance to transition to full market economy. Specifically to prevent the rise of the oligarchs and their corrupt power structure as it exists today. When the Soviet Union collapsed only a few select people took ownership of the bulk of important industries in Russia and became wealthy enough to control the country's politics from that point forward.
Probably the most interesting stuff to me was the constant attention to communism and how awful and full of corruption it was.

So you're telling me that the US left another country in ruin that caused more problems than it was trying to solve? Color me shocked.

Our civil liberties and JFK were the casualties of the Cold War.
Every single awful thing the Fed Gvt has become can be traced back directly to the Cold War. Every single one.
The US beat the communists in USSR. The communists beat the US in the MIC.
It became every one of the worst traits of the communists in the State Department and the “conservatives” in the military.

I thought it was great with 2 exceptions.
Episode 2....OMB
Last Episode....OMB on steroids. Russian collusion was nauseating.
Never touched much on the presidential times of Johnson or Ford. The presidents before Johnson were heavy as was Reagan.

I started seeing so much disingenuous revisionist history being repeated on the History Channel, of all places, that it was part of what led to my household ultimately completely cancelling satellite/cable TV.
