That UNT was just tougher and wanted the 50-50 balls more. That’s not a good sign Mcmen. Sign of a poorly coached squad honestly. Especially mid major versus sec and the sec being on the losing end of that conversation.

I doubt LSU was too excited to be in the NIT tournament. On the other hand, North Texas was probably excited to play LSU.

Oh that was absolutely the biggest difference. The refs let them play and they were very physical and we were not.
Of course that's been IMHO our biggest weakness all year, lack of toughness. Hannibal is about the only dog we had.

This should not be a shock to anybody that has went to our basketball games. There's a reason why Hannibal and Dean had dramatically increased roles down the stretch. They were the only 2 on the team that could handle the physical play that was used against us.

This isn’t football. Mid major basketball programs don’t have as wide of a gap in talent as a SEC football team. North Texas State has a pretty good basketball team. Those boys won the NIT last year. I’m not thrilled we lost nor am I surprised we did not win. A lot of these mid major basketball schools will punch you right in the mouth.
