How is Jared Verse not considered a Top 5 pick?

One thing I’m not understanding is how underrated Jared Verse has been in the draft process. He’s projected by all to be a 1st round pick as he should be, but a lot of mocks and projections have him in the lower end of the Top 10/into the teens.

This man was a monster at FSU. He has exceeded everyone’s expectations. I believe he is going to be a huge success in the NFL. I know everyone is talking QB and WR in the Top 5, but they’re missing out on a chance to draft a potentially generational talent.

What do you guys think?

This talent of this draft is heavy offense.

You can pretty much count the first 10 picks as 3 or 4 QBs, probably 3 WRs, and a few OL. Maybe even Bowers.

Seems like it's just circumstance of too many teams badly needing skilled offensive players

I'm an absolute fan as well. On top of the talent, he's got a killer motor and appears to have lots of strong leadership qualities. A great get for any team. Please draft him Saints!! Ha

IIRC, there are some questions about how explosive he is coming off of the edge.

Him and Fiske were straight up destroying OLs all year

Edge is a position you can pay and feel good about it. QB is too, but its hard to get a QB in free agency and its kind of undpredictable as to who will even get there because teams tend to hold on to QBs. Analytics say WR is the 2nd most important position in football now, and you've got 3 WR in this draft that would be the WR1 in most other drafts. Then OL and EDGE are 3/4 in some order. Then factor in team need, and Verse just ends up pushed down.

Some teams are also going to prefer Dallas Turner because he has great production too and tested extremely well.

I agree though, it seems like he should crush it in the league. Some team from 10-20ish is going to be very happy that this draft had so much talent at the top end at other spots.

Which team with a top 5 pick needs a DL (more than a QB)?

Bc 4 QBs and 2 elite WRs are going high, no one needs to trade up to get him

Hoping he falls to Tampa pair him with Vea, Kancey, and Diaby we fricking shite up next year.

Wouldn't mind Keon Coleman either Mike Evans has been as consistent as anybody but he can't keep it up forever and i believe Godwin's deal is up next year. He's had 4 straight years of 1000 yards as #2 he might want a lot of $ to comeback.

He doesn’t have the ideal length and size that teams covet in an edge player today. But the dude can flat out play. I watched him terrorize LSU’s OL. His motor never stops and seems like an overall good guy. Some team is going to get a hell of a player. Hopefully it’s the Saints.

Everyone seems focused on the shiny objects (QB and WR).

I think teams are worried he’s one dimensional. However, his one dimension is pinning his ears back and going after the QB. That’s a premier quality that every team is seeking.

I think there are some edge rushing gems to be found late in this draft. Same for tight end.

The DE from Texas Tech looks the part.

No. This is the single most over used description of players over the past decade.
