Maybe you should grow up. Ole Miss has a higher NET. We have a better record in conference with a better program.

Despite some real issues with a couple of their players, I think Ole Miss’ late season slide has more to do with them skipping the NIT. On the other hand, LSU has been playing much better basketball later in the season, so it is good to reward the players with some extra games and a possible tournament victory.

Simmons opted out and Johnny Jones quit on the team after that

Why should LSU pass on the opportunity to play in a nationally televised tournament, give their seniors an opportunity to go out on a high note, and give young players tournament playing experience?

No LSU fan thinks that

You can't be serious. First of all LSU beat Ole Miss this year. Secondly, Ole Miss has never had a better program than LSU. So you are inaccurate on all accounts.

Troll?
Or just slow?

Lol let’s see who better next year ?? so some how lsu was better than ole miss? But according to this post lsu wasn’t in if ole miss took the bid lol. They could easily accept the bid if they wanted to play for seconds like this basketball fan base

Can’t wait to see how MM improves on 9-10 while losing 5 or more players but replacing them with two low ranked 4 stars woooo. Man future is bright ehh?

I’m starting to think y’all are slow as frick . If this was BK or Jay all hell like break lose why do our expectations change for basketball lol? Isn’t the goal is to be the best or top tier in every sport ? Or are we okay with a mediocre basketball team ?

Wrong. LSU gets the automatic NIT bid because Ole Miss declined. The NIT can select more than two teams from each conference, The larger conference are guaranteed two spots. So LSU would have been in the tournament anyway.

Would he decline a NCAA bid or is this a form of opting out of a lower tier bowl. Hell, let the scrubs play and see what happens. Can he not field a starting 5?

Yes, Ben wouldn’t have agreed to play one more game. It was cancerous.

Plus he left the team about 5 minutes after the SEC tournament loss which played into LSU’s “decision”.

That year was such a total shite show.

LSU had a complete turnaround.

They can use the NIT to pick up momentum for the program going into next season.

Given where Ole Miss was earlier this year and how they finished (2-9), morale is probably not high heading into the offseason

LSU should take the cue and opt out, too. NIT is not where LSU needs to be. Season over.

I commend beard for being straight up and being honest about the situation instead of giving some generic answer not really saying anything on what’s going on.

As usual the stupidity here is astounding. Wade went to NIT his first year and everyone was thrilled. And yes that’s even with him having future NBA talent on the team when he got here. MM was a few plays away from winning 3 more SEC games and might have made NCAA tournament if he had Cook from day 1. And even with losing his leading scorer still finished 9-9 . Any idiot, except the idiots here, know getting more playing time and competing in NIT can be a springboard to NCAA next year. And LSU earned that spot no matter what the vagina bleeding Wade cult thinks.

Agreed our basketball fans seem to think playing for 2nd place and floating around the bottom of the sec every year is good. Also MM team next year should be really good with the 31st ranked recruiting class that includes just two players while we probably lose around 5 players . Who knows who gonna transfer out of this dumpster fire . Like come on no recruit that has dreams of playing in the nba is gonna come play for us right now while we have this dude who has a weird grip on many peoples balls on here . Don’t understand where exactly his fan base came from

Mmmmmm big difference is that’s wades first year lol. So by your statement will wade the better coach . What did MM do his first season as lsu? Oh yeah win 2 sec games . What did will wade do his second season at lsu? Oh yeah won the sec . What did MM do his second season at lsu ? Oh yeah finished near the bottom of the sec and got whipped by a smaller in state school on his home court lol. Great comparison keep up the good work . Whole bunch of could’ve would’ve in your statement bud ! Lsu could’ve won 3 more sec games easily!! But also they could’ve lost 3 or more sec games easily also
