So the NIT is beneath UNC, but no tournament play at all isn't?

Asinine logic.

Like I said Wade had future NBA players when he was hired. What did McMahon have. Once again the stupidity. And with NBA talent never got past the second round of NCAA. So yeah he was a good coach but not a great coach. So Wade went to the NIT his first year with future NBA talent already here. Wow. You’re right. He was a genius compaqreti to McMahon who had zero players on the team when he was hired. Once again the stupidity reign supreme here. I don’t know if McMahon is going to be a better recruiter than Wade. That remains to be seen but the McMahon derangement syndrome is rampant with the idiots. That’s for sure. Just remember this isn’t about McMahon. It’s about the Woodward haters needing to be right. You’re therapist would help you realize this. Hurry and make the appointment.

Let's celebrate the MM success. Other teams had to quit so LSU could make the NIT. Way to go MM!

Always heard that a rebuild has 4 stages/years…
Year 1 = lose big (dumpster fire)
Year 2 = lose close
Year 3 = win close
Year 4 = win big (program established)

I know everything is skewed a bit now with the portal & NIL, but LSU is positioned somewhere between years 2/3. Next year is definitely make the NCAA tourny with improved young talent/depth to sustain the program. Not defending MM at all, just saying an objective look at the whole picture shows next year is make/break for him. I wanted him gone early in the season & still not sold on him being the answer….BUT if I look at the 4 year outline, he is on schedule. NIT is acceptable outcome for year 2.

Just my 2 cents.

Please don’t bring logic here. They believe if you don’t turn it around from scratch in 2 years you are a loser. Which of course is the logic of delusional losers. Can it be done in 2 years these days?. Sometimes. Should it absolutely have to. No. But we are dealing with angry butthurt children . They are angry LSU is going to the NIT so they spend their free time online belittling it. Say you have no life without saying you have no life.

“Better” basketball programs DO want to be in the NIT, though.

Even Calipari era Kentucky wanted to play in the NIT when they didn’t make the NCAAT.

They went In the 2008/9 season with future NBA talent Patrick Patterson, DeAndre Liggins and Jodie Meeks, Kentucky didn’t turn down that invite.

And who can forget the 2012/13 season team that lost in the first round to Robert Morris, even when that team had future NBA players Nerlens Noel, Willie Cauley-Stein, Archie Goodwin and Alex Poythress.

But I guess, according to your way of thinking, Kentucky isn’t a better basketball program.
Maybe you’d like to tell that to Wildcats fans?
