If you had a public defender the first time around, you may not be able to get an attorney to handle appeals unless pro bono wants to take on Fulton County.

No, all 19 defendants had gofundme’s set up, all have received hundreds of thousands for the defense; also, I’d feel comfortable saying that due to recent events, they could raise significantly more for appeal. They just need thick skin.

Naw you’re entitled to a court appointed attorney if you lose at the trial level. In Louisiana it’s a different crew than the front line PD warriors fighting the good fight, day in and day out, in courtrooms all across this great land. When you see one, thank him for his service.

But back to the actual point at hand, you get one free bite at the appellate apple if you’re still of the indigent persuasion. If that doesn’t work out…..it’s jailhouse lawyers for you from there on.
