France pulled out of NATO in the 60s IIRC.

Technically, yes. However…

quote:

Despite France's withdrawal from NATO's integrated military structure, two technical agreements were signed with the Alliance, setting out procedures in the event of Soviet aggression. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, France has regularly contributed troops to NATO's military operations, making it one of the largest troop-contributing states. It is also NATO's fourth-biggest contributor to the military budget.

No more Soviet aggression. In fact, France is being the aggressor here.

Give Macron a pair of slippers and a dildo as a parting gift, France.

Does Macron think he’s Napoleon or something?

No, they technically did not.

De Gaulle left the integrated military command structure of NATO in the 60’s. They did not leave NATO.

France has since rejoined the NATO command structure. The only thing they do differently is that Frances nuclear missile submarines are not integrated into NATO as the US and UK boomers are.
