If you carry do you have it?
What do these policies typically provide and what's the price range?

I don't have it. Should I? Not entirely certain. There's a lot of ups and downs to each provider. It may help you out of a legal jam if you have to use your rights of self defense but there are a lot of stipulations where they can refuse to defend you. Read the fine print is all the advice I'll give you.

USCCA is a joke. If you are charged with a crime they won.t cover you. So if a DA decides he wants to indict you you’re fricked. Insurance companies are interested in taking your money. Bottom line.
If you are involved is a shooting they will find the cheapest defense attorney to advise you. I’m calling Lewis Unglesby if I get in that situation.

No I do not.
I have an attorney saved on my phone who will defend me if I call him.
I pay enough for insurance as it is and the likelihood of using my gun is very slim so I have chosen to roll the dice. I have concealed carried well over 10-15yr now and not needed either so I think I’m winning.

Yeah. I had a rep trying to sell coverage in a class I was taking. I asked, "so what happens if you are charged with a crime and need the attorney. Or worse, convicted and need to appeal. Do you guys stop paying or even ask for the money back?" He quickly says "you've been watching youtube?" Then came talk to me individually later. I just pointed out the obvious flaw that they don't pay if you committed a crime and I need them specifically to pay in order to prove I didn't commit a crime. He then brought up the Kayla Giles case they dropped, thinking I knew all about it. I didn't. He brought up how her search history proved it was pre-meditated. Only thing I could find when searching later was her searching what USCCA would cover and self defense scenarios. I feel we all would do that. Her original attorney told them he believed she had a strong self defense case. They still dropped her. No clue if she is truly guilty, but they had very weak argument for defining why she was dropped.
The sales rep was very defensive and aggressive in getting people to sign up. They just seemed like a money making scheme. Would not going them if I decided to join anyone.

I thought about joining at one point. Actually went so far as getting the contract from them and had my attorney look it over. He told me it had too many out clauses that it wasn’t worth it.

I don't have it and apparently one of the major players in that field have been getting blasted for not providing aid according to their terms of service recently.

Does the concealed carry permit liability provision in LA's constitutional carry change the thought process on any of this?

To me it does because if you have a CHP you are granted immunity under the new law if the incident is justified. Which means that the perpetrator(if alive), relatives and heirs cannot come after you with a civil case.

I use US Lawshield. Covers attorneys, expert witnesses, private investigator, and fines. I definitely would not carry without some coverage. They also have a 24/7 hot line to reach them
