Car in "park" is backed into and it moves about 5 feet. Any internal damage?

Long story short, I was backing out of a driveway and with my head completely up my arse, I backed into my friend's truck. No scratches to his truck, my car had a few scrapes. No biggie.
But his truck moved backwards about 5-7 feet. Automatic transmission. Will that cause any unseen damage?

Don't call his insurance company back. You'll be home free.

Possibly. Only way to tell is to drive the truck and see if it is still shifting correctly.

Possible but unlikely.
I had a drunk friend throw the SUV I was driving into park on the interstate at 70mph. Sold it 75k miles later and never had any transmission issues.

You did something dumb, so I'd pay for a quick looksie at the local mechanic.

hopefully a lesson learned and no damage. pay attention to what you are doing instead of living on your phone or worrying about other shite when you are reversing a vehicle
save that shite for when you are driving on the interstate

It was a driveway I've literally backed out of over 1000 times with no vehicle behind me. Doesn't excuse me not looking, but we are creatures of habit.

Parking pawl. When I was about 10 I pushed my dad’s dodge d100 into park when not completely stopped. He said don’t do that.
Hated myself ever since. He wasn’t mad at me but I’m still mad myself.
Probably didn’t do anything.

His truck moved that much in park? No scratches?

I had a lady with dementia smash the back of my wife's Z71 4WD truck and move it up the driveway about 20 feet. The lady thought my driveway was road. She was lucky because she would have driven into a deep ravine had she continued to go straight. There was no damage to the truck mechanically. It did need some cosmetic repairs.

He has a big arse bumper and I have a Nissan car. It wasn't a fair fight

Well I don't have one of those, so hard to say.
:inb4: "Are you ok with him doing your husband"
I don't have one of those either
