They are playing a physical, wear you down brand of basketball, that is likely more aggressive than the rules call for.

However, if the refs won't call the game like it supposed to be called, then USCe will continue to be at an advantage.

Since it seems like the NCAA / SEC won't force the officials to call it tighter, the only solution is for other programs to also get more physical.

How do you stop a bully? By punching them in the mouth.

No team is more physical than us.

it's the same thing USCe complained about last year when Iowa beat them

the refs were criticized from that final four including in the championship game when the calls kept both teams in foul trouble

now they are going the other way this year and it's been a much more physical style of play all year from all teams

my guess is they are gonna rein it in again for the tourney in order to keep their cash cow Caitlin Clark in the tourney and to stop the physical play which will be magnified in a tourney setting

I know you talkin about the other USC, but I wish LSU had JuJu Watkins, that's for sure! That guurl good! Mikayla Williams should sit down and watch a tape of her and see how a freshman player takes control like that and plays her game, picking her team up in the process.

Not hard to be physical when you have players who are 6'8. If Mulkey has a true point guard and a couple of those 6'8 players it would be extremely hard for any team to beat her.

Never seen where physical body contact on under - the - basket plays are so prevalent. With no calls. But S.Car. has had 3 such "incidents" this year alone. UConn's Gino A. really roasted her team's play several mths ago. And she immediately responded with calls of....."racism".

I agree with you but for different reasons. They don’t play “girl” ball.

They play like men. How they lay up is the biggest example. They lay up technique is what you see in the men’s game.

Watching WBB across most teams..that’s the boldest difference I’ve seen.

This isn’t an LSU issue. It’s a WBB issue. Too many missed lay ups.

South Carolina will not be allowed to bully clark. Nobody in power will allow that to happen so they better figure out how to play another style of ball.

The women's game is a COMPLETELY below the rim game with almost every player lacking the strength and explosiveness to play through contact. Thus, there is always going to be a lot of consequential contact around the basket. If the officials called every foul they could the game would be an unwatchable mess and simply a FT shooting contest.

Never could have dreamed about how popular this sport would be on this board even just a few years ago. Wild.

i'll keep my first comments on Staley to just performance based and on the court:

she got USCe to where they are by letting her girls play thug and challenge the refs to foul out her bigs. Boston was a genuinely great player but she should have fouled out the first half of every game, and not for tick tacky, transactional UtB calls. Hard fouls. Refs and NCAA let her get away with it, so I'm no going to fault her for it.

on a personal note: To be polite.. Staley is not a human being I have respect for in any regard.

It really is bizarre how spastic female players are on put backs or contested shots under the basket.

Half the time they aren't even looking at the basket when the ball is leaving their hand(s).

I don't expect them to be as athletic as the men, but this is D1 ball and I would expect them not to look like a 1st grade basketball game when they are in the paint.

there is a lot of shite talk being posted, but I just wanted to say this post is 100% spot on. Both our teams play extremely physical and for good reason. Our officials let it go most the time, but these tournament refs won't.

I think Dawn hated to see it for the reasons she stated, but I also think she knew that game will put officials on notice going forward, and that is not a good thing for either of our teams

Cardoso/Watkins/Reese/Morrow can all have this said about them.

Watching Boston for all her years and all her games. She would stay away from plays in the first half to not gather fouls. The four I named above are looking to block shots at any time and could get calls (probably should).

Other than being a black female, I wonder what is pushing all of the elite HS womens players to USCe instead of UConn?

Has Geno lost his swag? Are the girls tired of Geno? USCe is on their way to becoming what UConn was. What Tenessee use to be.

Meh, we will see how the games are officiated when corrupt SEC crews aren't officiating SEC teams.

shite got real for them last year in the last few games and they couldn't handle it.

Reminds me a lot of when Duke makes the NCAA tourney then the officiating doesn't go their way like it does all year in the ACC. Watching them melt is hilarious.
