Dillards will have Hart Schaffner , Hickey Freeman in stock. Generally $600 to $800 and they usually do basic alterations for free. They also have some other brands but those are excellent suits in that range.

I just bought this one. My first three-piece suit. Wore it to my father-in-law's funeral last week. Wife didn't care for it. But it was a big hit.

If you're close to a Brooks Brothers outlet you can get a nice suit for $500.

All the more reason to go as cheap as possible. It's money wasted. When you die, you won't care what you look like.
Get cremated and you don't need a suit.
