Atlantas the only city on the list. The others are big towns.

Kansas City is not the South, and they have the worst airport that I've ever flown into/out of.

New airport opened last spring. Went to the old one right before they closed and they had to stopped cleaning bathrooms/stocking Tp

They’ll also tell you it’s not all that great of a place to live full time or grow up. Not much to do and hot as hell. Not to mention hurricanes. Great place to visit though.

I know a bunch of folks in Key West and they’re happy but the do complain about cost of living ( outrageous) and having to drive to Miami for any kind of variety in life. Long dam drive at low speeds and very revenue conscience cops along the way. Fishing, diving and drinking is about all there is to do….all are great but most people need more in life.

Those aren't southern cities.

Very solid point. Three of them are Texas cities which is a fine thing to be. Austin is some kind of weird place I don't want much to do with despite my love to Texas.

This raises another point, that a lot of the rapidly growing and thriving southern cities are so full of transplants that their link to being Southern is becoming tenuous. Nashville, Atlanta, and Charlotte might have more in common with Kansas City, Indianapolis, and Columbus than Birmingham, New Orleans, and Charleston.

Each of the above cities has its merits and detractions but I don't love the idea of moving to a suburb of nashville and living with a bunch of folks that think the outdoorsy southern life is driving a car-based SUV and wearing a trucker hat.

If only ranking deep south

1) Charleston
2) Savannah
3) Nashville
4) Birmingham(including Mountain Brook,
et all)
5) Pensacola *not sure if major enough to be on list

New Orleans used to be one of my favorite places on earth but the crime, corruption, wokeness have destroyed any love I had for it.

Atlanta is obviously the most important city...but I hated my time when I lived there

They're all shiteholes. You like paying $1200 to fly to Tallahassee from ATL, because there is no practical way to get there driving without wasting an inordinate amount of time.

And whomever listed San Antonio, take a dive. Austin is full of undesirables, but San Antonio exhibits their singular civilian quality, is that the landscape is brown as hell. And I mean vegetation, not people. DFW and IAH are more like fifteen cities in one where you have a selection.

No Nooga? No Nashville? You putting Memphis in this list makes me think you're full of troll. Anybody that lives in Tennessee or Arkansas raise their hands to live in Memphis? Anyone? And every time you fly out, you're going to be flying with kids pulling IVs through TSA due to Shriner's. Don't need that any more than necessary.

What? And there is a decent sized woke brigade in Bham as well.

It does have a great food scene now, though. That is one of the best kept secrets for sure.

Yup. That drive is annoying. 3.5 hrs just to get to Miami.

Had a buddy who grew up there and we all used to say how awesome that must've been. His response was always the same, “it’s not all what it’s cracked up to be trust me.”

Where is safe from that? And Bham does have the Vulcan statue.

Still would not move there unless out of last chance desperation.

Birmingham has some great suburbs but the city proper is mostly ghetto.
