It violates private property rights.

But it’s widely accepted by the same people that claim fertilized eggs are babies and that because so, abortion is murder.
So your point is moot.
So you are in the camp that an embryo is not a life

Interesting. I thought they were just cells…

Either a fertilized egg is a “baby” or it’s not. Get your shite together. Your lack of logical consistency confirms that conservatives are a bunch of ignorant clowns

Until there's a heartbeat, it's not viable. My take at least.

It’s not going to end well. That’s for certain

Are we back to hhtm posting a topic and then ghosting the rest of the thread? Asking for a friend.

No an ivf fertized egg is not a baby. Not until the conception process is completed where the fertilized egg has achieved implantation within the uterus/womb and is capable to develop further. Organs, form and around 5 weeks is when the nueral system starts to form.
IMO not until successful implantation has occurred that I would consider that a ivf fertilized egg a "baby" for your attempted gotcha. And MO is it's really not a baby until there's a heart beat and brain function.
In this day and age there really shouldn't be a need for an abortion.

How is abandoning fertilized eggs different than abortion?
I know you don't really want a real answer but only one of your 2 scenarious involves dissecting & scraping a actively growing embryo out of a woman's uterus .
Not always does a fertilized egg implant and without that happening there is no pregnancy to abort.

While you have a point let’s not pretend for one second you progressives give a single frick about logical consistency. In this regard the left is way worse than the right.

If consistency is required, can we start deep freezing children? They’re the same as embryos. We can thaw them out when they’ve learned their lesson.

What a retarded response to a non issue

Thoughts?
My view is the view of the Catholic Church:
quote:
The Magisterium has pronounced her main teachings on IVF in Donum Vitae (1987), Evangelium Vitae (1995), and Dignitas Personae (2008). The Church says "no" to IVF due to the massive destruction of embryonic life, the assault on the meaning of the conjugal act and the treatment of the child as a product not a gift.
The state of Alabama is morally wrong for proposing such a law.

What a stupid response

Actually the stupid response is enshrining in our civil law abstract philosophical dividing lines like personhood being assigned to embryos. There has to be a legal status of less than personhood. There’s nothing wrong with someone believing life begins at conception, but it is crazy to assign legal personhood from conception.

That means someone who kills a pregnant woman can only be charged with one homicide.
And again, this law, even though it expires, would remove all liability for damage to embryos. There was a $15 million judgment in San Francisco for destruction of embryos; this is not unusual.

No, it doesn’t mean that. But in order to up-charge the murder it is not necessary to give the fetus voting rights or a social security number. The up-charge for murdering a pregnant woman has existed even when abortion was legal. This is the use of legal statuses different than full personhood.
It’s like republicans have cognitive issues. You can’t remember what we did yesterday and you can’t conceive of distinctions that have been in the law for generations.
