It's very clear that the really good guards are cooking us right now and we miss a dude that was playing all nba level defense for us.

This is absolutely true. His offensive development is incredibly important to reach the ceiling for this franchise.

Dyson was a big part to the success Pels were having this season. Anyone who didn’t see that doesn’t know basketball.

For sure, no defensive resistance (w/o Dyson) at point-of-attack. Halliburton and McConnell ran free all night.

Gives minutes to Hawk so it’s for the best.

Since Herb has gone ahead & taken such a quantum leap this season...I can now officially state that...Dyson will be our most improved player at this time next season.

Wish I could say it would be Trey...but until his handle (& defense) improves substantially...I'm goin' with Dyson. He's gonna made a huge difference in this team...and make Herb an EVEN better defender.

He is also the best shot they have at developing a PG. Herb has already exceeded any of our expectations with his offensive improvement, now it's on Dyson and Zion to improve for the future of this team's success. It would also lessen the sting of passing on Garland a little.

Dyson becoming a 40% 3 pt shooter would change the trajectory of this franchise. He'd be an automatic starter and allow Herb and Zion to play their best. We could trade CJ which would allow us to keep Trey and/or go after an upgrade at C.

Been saying it. Dyson wins his minutes and was a big reason we got to where we were. I would love to take all Naji’s minutes and gives them to Hawk and Dyson.

Yep. Imagine a Dyson(shooting well from 3), herb, Trey, Zion, center lineup. Where you trade CJ and BI for a long term center, depth and picks.

Not sure I see him developing into a 40% shooter from three since he is at 30% so far in his career on mostly wide open looks but maybe it's possible if he has Herb's level of work ethic.

It was a crap time for him to get injured considering he was actually playing decent on offense (for him). Last 5 games averaged 6.6 ppg on 56% shooting and 36% from three. More than that though, he actually seemed to have some confidence going relative to what we had seen in the previous two months.

Hasn’t changed my mind at all. But then I always believed a guy who plays elite level defense and has the size to do it against multiple positions was an invaluable asset to any team. Let alone a team with a defensive minded coach like Willie Green.

Nothing I haven’t been saying for weeks. I’ve said since we drafted him give him to year 3 or 4 to see what he can become. I still find it hilarious everyone that wanted to trade him for peanuts at the deadline.

Still not sure on Dyson. His defense is great, but you are hoping for more from a guy taken top 10 than a one-way role player. The problem for me is not his 3 point shot. Plenty of guys develop that over time. It's that he looks so stiff and mechanical with the ball in his hands, almost like a guy who didn't play a lot of basketball growing up and is still trying to get a feel for the game. I don't know if that ever gets fully resolved at this level. It may be too late in the day.

He's an elite on-ball defender in year 2. He is also a damn good rebounder and is pretty effective getting the team into transition off of them.

He admittedly needs to improve his shot, but I really think there is a pretty simple answer that will help him get more consistent. If he drops his left foot about 5 inches away from the line, it will open up an impingement he has in his shoulders.

Steph Curry is a great example of how it cleans up his form:

Frankly, I think players have been mis-coached for years to stay square to the rim.
