Unpopular opinion: this play was very overhyped and over celebrated. 35+ yard go route on 3rd and 6, up 16-15 with 1:50 left in the 4th Qtr. Give credit to Derek for the great execution and Shaheed for getting so wide open, but its still a very low percentage play. Can't imagine Brady or Manning doing something like that in such a crucial situation. Anyway, it ended up working out and Derek was praised for it.

Some people will bend over backwards to create a reason to not celebrate their own team's success. Blows my mind.

That game was in September. Damn, if I ever hate a player this much, I'll quit watching for my health

I think many fans, and most rational fans believed Carr was overpaid relative to his career. He was a middle of the pack starter with a reasonably low ceiling and some potential for bust.
However, some couldn’t get past that he was likely an upgrade over what we’ve had the last couple of years.
As we sit now, I think EVERYONE should now realize that Carr at his best can be good enough to lead us to victories if he has an OL and competent WRs. But he’ll never carry this team. He just isn’t good enough for that. And he sometimes will play like a dog. He just doesn’t have elite QB soft skills to prevent it.
In the end, we aren’t going to get enough out of him to justify his contract…even if he plays up to his historic norms.

Ironically, he is being paid as a middle of the pack starter. Currently the 14th highest average per year; outside of Cousins I can't see anyone getting more than that this year but stranger things have happened

He’s paid exactly in line with his production

Should he not have been praised for the play?
Been awhile since I saw the sideline conversation before the play, but from what I recall they saw something they could take advantage of and took the shot. Manning & Brady have a number of plays where they make low percentage passes in hopes of icing a game

It's trolls that will do this.

That was a great play well executed… my only complaint was they kept going back to it again and again and again instead of quitting while they were ahead.

I gave him credit for the execution

Good point. Thank you for actually adding to the discussion.

You sound like a sad, miserable, jealous little thing.

It was a great throw. They lose the game if it’s incomplete.

Y’all will do anything to convince yourselves that a QB who is 15 games under .500 for his career is the right guy to eat up a lot of cap space on the oldest roster in the league
Carr did nothing to elevate this offense. There’s like 4 people in the world who think he’s the answer and they all post on this board

Damn I haven’t been hated on this bad since before the season when I predicted Purdy and Baker would have better seasons than Carr. I was laughed at for being so negative and ridiculous!!! I was just “trolling” though!! *Baker wins division and playoff game*
*Purdy makes it to the super bowl*
Lucky guess!

I dunno about that. I'm not singing Carrs praises, but the 49ers just went to the super bowl with Brock Purdy. I feel like Carr can play better than Purdy, he has more arm talent and is a tough sob
