Big pharma funding this study?

If so, it’s indirectly through organizations:

quote:

Sources of Funding

Dr Jeffers was supported by National Cancer Institute grant T32 CA113710. Dr Jeffers and Dr Keyhani were supported by National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute grant 1R01HL130484-01A1. The funding organizations are public institutions and had no role in the design and conduct of the study; collection, management, analysis, and interpretation of the data; preparation, review, or approval of the article; and decision to submit the article for publication.

And maybe here:

Disclosures

Dr Glantz serves as a consultant to the World Health Organization outside the submitted work. The remaining authors have no disclosures to report.

I’m no expert but I have read THC raises blood pressure for about 30 minutes then lowers blood pressure and this is why your eyes turn red due to lowered blood pressure.

If this is true I don’t see how edibles would raise the risk of heart attack or stroke in otherwise healthy people.

Now if you’re overweight and have high blood pressure anyway and you take a substance that raises your BP for 30 minutes I can see this would be a problem. But these people would have had a problem anyway just not as soon.
