Have a group of 6 guys that are trying to plan an overnight fishing trip. We are open to private bass lakes with lodging that provide boats or just getting a cabin somewhere and bring our own boats. We are open to saltwater to catch reds and specks as well but would prefer some type of private stocked bass lake. (Some of these dudes fish maybe once a year). 5 of us are from Louisiana with one guy from Mississippi and we’d like to drive and bring our own tackle. Likely be a 3 or 4 day trip next April or May unless we decide a date sooner.

Where are y’all driving down from?

Sounds like yall need to decide if you want fresh or salt and decide if you want a guided trip or fish on your own.

There are plenty of inshore guides if that’s the route you want to go. I have no ideas of anywhere that there is a private stocked lake that you can just come fish at your leisure. Maybe someone else can help with that.

That was actually the first place I looked. Only issue for a few guys is it would be a tad pricy for a 3/4 day trip.

Santee Cooper .... put in on the diversion canal so that you have quick access to both lakes. (Hilltop would be my suggestion.)

Black bass, catfish, shell crackers, whites .... look out for the gators and have fun.

Santee Cooper

Always wanted to go to Santee but a few of these boys are pretty green fishing and running boats.

My buddy and I that fish alot together are planning a trip to Santee or Fork in the next year or so. Just haven't decided which. Both long hauls to pull a boat but nothing we haven't done before.

If Grosse Savane is too expensive maybe just check around for rental properties in the Morgan City area and fish on your own. Get a place with a kitchen and cook your own catch.

I know it’s a tad expensive, but their private bass fishing is no joke.

Been looking at that one as well. Seems pretty reasonable and the fishing looks good.

We have multiple bass guides that can accommodate y’all for 3-4 days on Toledo Bend or Sam Rayburn. April/May would be a blast! Bent Rods Guide Service

We (hrg) start booking up in May so if you're interested get your days on the books with Tanya a month or two before.
Plenty of guys fish a couple days and then hit casino for a couple days to gamble or golf.
Doubt anyone would come here to gamble since ya'll have the bell of baton rudge.
