Was UConn the best team last year? No, Alabama was. Yet UConn won it all. Purdue lost in round one to a 16 seed. Having a 6-round tournament with 68 teams is not the best way to determine a champion. What's a legitimate alternative?

If Alabama was the best team they would have won.

The BCS. But everyone hated that too.

What would you rather, a BCS style approach to college basketball?

Taking the top 8 teams and playing 5 game series would probably be most fair but also boring as hell.

Using Purdue as an example is interesting, isn’t losing to lesser teams their thing the last few years?

I agree, March Madness is a BOATLOAD of fun as a fan. As a player, though...

The games are not played on paper; they are played on the court. Alabama had their fair chance.

San Diego State had a mighty impressive run. What they did to us in the Elite Eight literally made my chest hurt.

You shut your whore mouth. If Alabama was the best team last year and peaking at the right time they wouldn't have lost.

The best team often doesn't win the championship. This happens in the NBA, NFL, etc.

That's the nature of a tournament.
