What are you building and why?

AR-10 with a vortex scope? Take down most NA game, and be able to defend your home? You get one rifle. What will it be and why?

A tikka T3 in .300 win mag with a SWFA 3-9x40HD. Spend the rest on supressor and ammo.

I absolutely love my Tikka T3 in 300 Mag.

The best 3k I have in a firearm is my Seekins SP10. It's a tack driver and built very well. Let me tell you, I can get up on my roof with that thing and reach out and touch some shite and with bad intentions.

How do you like the Boyd's stock? Thinking about getting one for my x-bolt.

Got that to fit my kids. It's a well made stock and it feels good. My 9yr old son killed his first deer with it at 200+ yards.

something in the $600 range with a suppressor and a $1500 scope. Most modern rifles shoot well. Probably a compact for me (savage or ruger)

If I was limited to just one rifle it would be simple to operate and maintain and in an easily available caliber. Add in the requirement that must take down most NA game and that sounds like a bolt action in .308 or 30-06 to me.

That's just not realistic. There will never be a situation where I only have one rifle.

Cartridge: I live in the southeast. .308 or 6.5 cm are great rounds either of those.
Scope: Leupold VX5 hd 3-15x44 might be the perfect hunting scope and can do long range in a pinch.
Will absolutely have a silencer on it.

A sophisticated man would have one rifle and many shotguns

I custom built an AR in6.5 Grendel for 1200.
Put a VX-3HD on it for 800
Leaves 1K for a can

Perfect build for me

I have quite a few of those as well.

Was also thinking about it and probably the most versatile rifle you can have is a .22lr. Have one with a silencer and and I can’t imagine much better in the south

I’m limited to one single rifle? Then AR-10 in .308.
