The New Orleans Pelicans are signing guard Malcolm Hill on a two-way contract, sources tell ESPN. Hill has averaged 24.6 points on 44 percent 3-point shooting for the Pels’ G League affiliate in Birmingham. Hill’s had NBA stops with Atlanta and Chicago too.

WHERE IS KARLO!!!???

Probably working out with team and then will be signed to a two-way once they decide what they are doing with Matt Ryan. Could also see them releasing Seabron.

My guess is that they still are trying/waiting to sign a buyout market guy. If they do, Karlo gets a 2 way. If they don't, Karlo gets a regular contract.

Yeah, wish we had a couple of those type guys on the bench to give Willie some floor spacing for Zion….

Maybe one of the defense first guys will get injured and open up some minutes for a shooter.

Marlo obsession is in full gear.
Ioops, that’s Karlo’s cousin. My bad.

Buyout market and Karlo getting a full deal are pretty much out with JRE getting converted when he dis.

We only have around 650k left to pay someone without going into the tax, Karlo would count for 1 million.

The scenario I believe happens is Matt gets converted with 15 or so games left (would have him with a 390k hit) and Karlo gets a 2 way

94.6% of his made 3’s have been assisted this year, so he’s almost exclusively a catch-and-shoot guy

I think we're strategizing to protect these guys from being poached to 10 day contracts. Teams are probably showing interests.

Don't get the Hill signing. He is already 28 and has only played a small handful of games in the NBA. Should have signed Jemison to a 2-way when we had a chance or used it on Matkovic.

In fairness, we don't even know if he's an NBA level player.

Maybe, but he is 24 and Matkovic is 22. Hill is 28, so it is likely that he is not an NBA player and we have plenty of guards we do not have enough minutes for now.

For sure baffled on the Pels G-Leaugue strategy. Aside from rehab and run for the main squad, haven't really gotten good value except for Naji and Jose.

G-Leaugue here, but in general player development seems off. Seems like Pels should have done something with Jemison, who's been solid with Memphis, but maybe preferred Karlo?

I'm not saying he'll never play in the NBA, but the Pels do have a pretty good track record for spotting undrafted rotation players, so they must have had a reason to pick JRE and Matkovic over Jemison.

I guess they also technically may have Liam Robbins in the stable. So Jemison may have just been the odd man out.

The strategy isn't about his development or even potentially signing him to the main roster. It's most likely to protect the Squadrons from losing a key contributor with more than a month of play left. Teams are literally signing a bunch of g league guys and converting 2 way contracts to standard contracts this week. Once the dust settles, we'll probably waive him to free up his 2 way contract and sign Karlo with it.

Just posted about Jemison, he's been solid for Memphis. In fairness, they did have minutes for him with their injuries. Just this weird vibe like the Pels believe the main club is primed and ready but most see specific holes they don't seem to address with trade or development. I think they've drafted well but still haven't defined roles (development) to some promising drafted players.

Makes sense, but if Pels didn't make any move at the deadline to address a stated need, wouldn't Karlo be the one to sign to a standard contract. I thought Two-ways have to be converted before end of season to contribute to postseason play.
