I have no problem with Angel. Trash talk is common in sports. It's the competitiveness that come out with athletes and it's entertaining. Stop race baiting. Y'all are dividing the country with that crap.

quote:that’s not it at all. Angel doing the “can’t see me” thing at the free throw line was all trash talk and fine
People didn't like when Angel did it because Clark was the media darling
Following her around the court pointing at your ring finger after the game was over to rub it in was the problem.

Let me guess…we are racist??? Did I play the right card?

Sports fans and sports media run off the tears of homers and fans. It is all emotion. All fans hate great players until they play for a team you like. Putting stock in anything put out by a sports journalist or a fan base is worthless when it comes to who is bad and who is good. All about the hype, clicks and advertisement, don't chase the ball.

There is a difference, yet, there isn’t a difference.

You're not wrong. And we know why. And are white folks from Louisiana going to get it? Of course not. And we know why.

From a fan's perspective, I have never seen an athlete in any sport, up 20 pts for a national title chase the opponents star player around the court doing the "see the ring" gesture that Joe Burrow did... (before the game ended)
But Burrow did it front of his head coach on the sideline...way different swag...
imagine Joe's reputation if he ran over to the Clemson sideline and did that on National TV? he'd be flagged for taunting at the very least.
he'd catch all kinds of hell wouldn't he?
so, what Reese did seemed personal and probably a little bit of racial resentment mixed in there as well..

Sounds like the whole thing was manufactured or at least squashed between Angel and Caitlin. Check out this article about Sheryl Swoopes walking back some of her comments about Caitlin and how Angel intervened:
"Shortly after Clark took the top spot on the scoring list, Swoopes revealed that LSU star Angel Reese facilitated a conversation between her and the Iowa star."
"Honestly, a couple of weeks ago I reached out to Angel (Reese) and had a really good conversation with Angel over the phone and sent a message to Caitlin," Swoopes said

White people that have never spent and time around someone from inner city or spent any time in the inner city are so out of touch it’s hilarious.
This is how people are. Not everyone is vanilla bland.

Said another way, inner city people haven't spent anytime around white people in the suburbs, and are so out of touch, - it's sad...
...74% of blacks don't have a father, that's not something to joke about or encourage to keep doing...

when Caitlin Clark does the same thing, people say she’s a competitor and hates to lose.

The only thing I've ever heard regarding Clark was last year in the Elite Eight when Iowa beat Louisville to advance to the Final Four. Ironically, Clark gave Hailey Van Lith, then with Louisville, the 'you can't see me' taunt in that game. Perhaps OP is just venting because Reese took flak for the A&M game. As far as Clark goes this season, I have no idea whether she has been trash talking a little, a lot or not at all -- haven't heard anything either way -- but she's a white, heterosexual Christian who is also a great basketball player. Is it any wonder there are those who want to compare, contrast and complain about her?

She did it to her own strength coach.
Until I see more, I am going to assume the OP is completely full of shite and is being a worthless homer.

Bruh! You really think this is relevant to a thread about trash-talking and people's perception of racism?
Well, I guess it IS a perfect example of how clueless wypipo are about how falling over backwards to deny racism usually reveals their underlying racism…
And, oh BTW, 100% of all people have a father.
